Already small for her age, 11-year-old Luna Lovegood constantly tripped over her oversized robes that were meant for 17-year-olds, making a mental note that she would adjust them when she arrived at the Ravenclaw common room. For now, her task at mind was finding it first. Which already seemed impossible due to the size of Hogwarts Castle and the number of corridors you could get lost in. "You look lost" Luna heard when she was in an unknown passageway. She turned her head to see a lady. Her face was pale like something just terrible had happened, she was tall and looked absolutely beautiful, her eyes were narrowed to see the small figure that stood in front of her. "Why aren't you at the feast with everyone else?" The lady asked again. Luna looked more closely, the lady looked young, but not young enough to be a student and Luna didn't see her at all at the staff table. "They were making fun of me behind my back," Luna admitted her voice barley above a whisper, "I just couldn't handle it, so I thought I could go to my common room early" The lady crouched down to meet Luna's level, "I know what you mean," the lady said, "the kids here are awful. I've had books thrown at me, over the years taunted at, all you could imagine. I'll help you find you common room. What house are you in?" "Ravenclaw" Luna replied, the lady did a little wink, "Well your in luck because I am the Ravenclaw ghost" Luna followed the ghost through a series of whindling passageways and doorways passing really quickly by a portrait of a extremely fat lady who was singing to try to break glass but was actually breaking Luna's ears. "Don't worry that's for the Gryffindors to use, they have to give her a password to get in" The lady reassured her, pointing to the portrait, but all Luna could think was "poor Ginny" recounting her Gryffindor friend that she met on the train. "I suppose you should introduce yourself, young girl" The lady said when they were almost there, "Luna Lovegood," Luna said rather quickly, "My father edits the Quibbler my mum died from a spell when I was 9" she said the last part rather sadly, even if it had been 2 years since the screaming and the uncontrivable crying over her mother's dead body, she had not gone over her mum's death, she didn't think she would ever will, "I'm sorry for your loss, I'm Helena Ravenclaw, but you can call me The Gray Lady" Luna bit her upper lip. "Wait your-" "Yes, I'm the daughter of Rowena Ravenclaw, founder of the Ravenclaw house" The Grey Lady said as they reached the door of the Ravenclaw tower, a large wooden Raven stood onto it. "How do you get in?" Luna asked, realizing that the door was too large for her to open. "You answer the riddle, of course" Luna gave a perplexed look, the Raven looked like it couldn't make sound. It took Luna about 10 minutes to study it until a large booming sound came filling the outside courtyards and Quidditch pitch. "What is seen in the middle of March and April that can’t be seen at the beginning or end of either month?" Luna thought for a while but couldn't get it until the grey Lady answered "Please don't ask her such hard riddles, she's only a first year and had already gone through a lot" The Raven door seemed to understand and heaved open. Luna arrived in the Ravenclaw common room in awe. It was the most beautiful room she ever saw. Blue banners hung everywhere, dozens of bookshelves towered over her. The fire flickered warmly, in the front, were probably the most comfiest couches Luna ever seen. "Thank you," Luna whispered, "thank you for guiding me here" "Your welcome, little child," the Grey Lady smiled warmly, "now go to bed before the other kids comes" With one last look, the Grey Lady floated away. Leaving Luna deserted.
