"Wait up, please!" he yowled desperately as his mother disappeared from sight. His littermates were on his father's back, while he was being left behind. Tornkit's mother, Blackwhisker, had abandoned him. The fire raged around him, caging him... choking him... A large feline jumped above him, and snatched him up. "Hey!" Tornkit screeched. "Please, my mom is that way!" His tail was pin straight and aimed at the river, where RiverClan was going. His rescuer shook his head and darted towards ShadowClan. Tornkit's paws flailed helplessly as his flaming camp disappeared from view. "Wait..." "I, Flickerstar, pronounce your name as Tornfeather." "Tornfeather!" The ShadowClan cheered. Tornfeather grinned, sharp teeth showing. Then, RiverClan scent wafted over the camp. "Gorsestar." Flickerstar sneered. "What do you want?" The RiverClan leader scanned the clearing, eyes landing on Tornfeather. "There you are. Come back to RiverClan!"
