Chapter 4: My teacher turns into his name After science class with Lily, she insisted that I go to all the classes with her. I tried to argue back but I just decided to bite my tongue. One thing I noticed was that Mr. Bassisk was everywhere I was going. Lily seemed to notice too, and that made her even more nervous. And the thing with Lily is that if she gets nervous, she talks a LOT. When the bell indicating school was over rang, Lily marched with me towards the school’s exit. “Come.” She simply said. I was going to go with her when a cold voice came. “Mister Brooks,” Mr. Bassisk said, “Meet me in my classroom.” I was nervous. Lily told me I would be fine, so I went. Mr. Bassisk was seated in his chair. “Mr. Bassisk, I’m sorry about the elective thing I just-” But I noticed Mr. Bassisk wasn’t listening to me. Mr. Bassisk I noticed started growing. His skin turned green, and his eyes a piercing red. I looked at this transformation until I figured out that Mr. Bassisk was turning into a Basilisk. He was too big for the classroom. The roof (which I almost reached) broke. Mr. Bassisk, or, well, the Basilisk started slithering to me. I had to act fast. I took out the sword Lily gave me, Apolorela. As I did with the Cyclopes, I started slashing the sword, everywhere I could. My amazing height let me get close to its head, and I slashed the sword there. The Basilisk vaporized. I heard some footsteps and Lily opened the door. She saw the Basilisk vaporizing and she said, “Run.”
