Today was the funeral. The funeral for...it hurt enough to just think of her name. Coraline still couldn't believe that her sister was gone. No one could. She heard Lakia up in the middle of the night calling her name before realizing that... She was truly gone. How could her happy, go-lucky, rule-breaking, sassy, brave, loving sister be gone? Coraline felt a tear roll down her cheek. It reminded her of the days when she would get a glass of water and do tricks just for her. And her laugh... That was really the only thing that Coraline wanted to hear. Her sweet laugh, that seemed to make everything a little brighter. Coraline sobbed. She was really gone wasn't she? There was bringing her back was there? No amount of water tricks could fix that. She heard Lakia enter the room and sit beside her. Coraline wiped away her tears and looked into her usually bright green eyes. But now...ever since that day, they were dull. Almost gray. "I can't believe..." Lakia started, but a few silent tears cut her off. It seems Coraline wasn't the only one who started to cry every time she thought or talked about her. "She's gone?" Coraline finished for her. "I know. Neither can I..." Lakia looked at the ceiling. "I can still hear her sometimes, in my head. Just...laughing. Laughing happily as if nothing happened. As if she was still there." Coraline stared at her for a moment, before looking away. "Me too. I just...If I could wish for one thing, it be for her to come back." She choked. Lakia opened her mouth to reply, but was cut off by the creak of the door as someone entered the room. It was Root, dressed all in black for the funeral. "It's time you guys."
