Chapter 5: I run away from home “Lily, you said that you wanted to tell me something, you know, before all of…” I paused. “All of THAT happened.” We left the school as fast as we could. “Oh, well, yes…” Lily said. “So…? What is it?” “Leo,” Lily took a big breath. “You're a Demigod.” A pang of fear hit me. What!? A Demigod!? Lily sensed it. “You must believe me,” She insisted. Finally, when I could talk again I said, “So… If I’m a Demigod… are you also a Demigod?” “Oh, no,” Lily said. “I’m your protector. I’m a Wood Nymph.” I stopped my tracks. My best friend was a Wood Nymph? “You have to believe me.” “W-what about my mom?” “Um, well… your mom adopted you.” My eyes opened a lot. How could I be adopted? “So, if I’m adopted… who are my parents?” We stopped, since we reached my house entrance. I rang the doorbell, and my mom opened the door? She glanced at Lily, who gave her a look. “What does Lily mean, that I’m adopted?” I demanded. “Oh, sweetheart,” my mom hugged me. “I’m sorry. You’ll understand everything when you get to camp.” Camp?, I wondered. Anger boiled inside me. “NEVER TALK TO ME AGAIN!” I shouted at her. I stomped to my bedroom, packed my suitcase, and left running towards the street, away from my room, away from my house, away from my mom. Lily was still waiting outside. “Leo, you need to understand that-” “I don't want to talk right now, ok?” I said. Lily hesitated. “Thank the gods camp is close to here.” I was about to say, ‘WHAT CAMP IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT?!’ but I decided to remain silent. “Come,” Lily said. I followed her, being sure I was far away from her, but with my large steps I accidentally came close to her in a minute. I decided to leave it like that. After about thirty minutes, we reached a hill with the name, ‘Camp Half-Blood.’
