This project consists of the special species which may be obtained via TSS's token exchange shop, giveaways, or special litters. Please note that these felines are /not/ their own Clans, simply species. Please do not refer to them as VenomClan, BugClan, ShadowClan, or MoonClan. They are simply venomcats, bugcats, shadowcats, and mooncats. Space/click --- Beneath the zephyrs that stir the grains lining the desert's dunes, silent, scaled killers await the perfect moment to strike. Venomcats make themselves perfectly at home in the Barren lands, being built thrive in a desert landscape. They're often found hiding away under the sand, curled into burrows that they'd hide in to surprise their prey and sleep. Undeniably, a venomcat's most peculiar feature is their fur: or rather, lack of it. The top of a venomcat's body is lined with small scales, transforming into larger, more plated scales to protect the reptilian feline's throat and underbelly. One notable feature of these serpentine felines is their thin, protruding fangs, reminiscent of that of a snake as well as their large, lopped ears that almost resemble that of a king cobra from the front. These scaly creatures have short legs and long, snake-like tails on top of which their skin flares out in another hood-like arrangement. While this species is usually diverse, the one thing they all have in common are beady yellow eyes with a permanently slitted pupil. - Note: Venomcats cats are cold-blooded. Special abilities: -Venomous bite -Alarmingly quick runner -Can smell with their forked tongues, think snakes! Venomcat heights (at the shoulder) - 15< - Not permitted 14 - 15 inches - Tall 13 - 12 inches - Average 11 - 10 inches - Short 10> - Not permitted Permitted scale colors: Pick a type of snake, base the venomcat's design off that snake Permitted eye colors: Yellow --- Buzzing within the branches of the desert's dead trees and watching from behind an ebony-black gaze, a six-legged creature skitters across the desolate land. Bugcats were never made for the sand, that's for sure. With glistening smooth skin, these bug-eyed felines are always on the search for moisture. Unfortunately, many of them find themselves unwelcomed by the Clans and stuck to the Barren Lands, often times leaving them terribly dehydrated. With long, pointed muzzles and wide inky-black eyes, bugcats are certainly not a species to be mistaken. These felines possess glossy, smooth skin that bares not a trace of fur with two antennae jutting from their foreheads. Bugcats have long, tapered tails ending in a dangerous black-tipped stinger, posed and ready to strike pain into any cat who gets too close. Their most notable feature, aside from a shiny, hardened shell that guards their vulnerable backs, are the extra two limbs that sprout from these cats' chests, dangling paws ending with four armored black toes. Special abilities: - Stinger - Impressive eyesight Bugcat heights (at the shoulder) - 12< - Not permitted 10 - 11 inches - Tall 8 - 9 inches - Average 6 - 7 inches - Short 6> - Not permitted Permitted skin colors: Green, brown, yellow, orange, black Permitted shell colors (metallic): Green, blue, purple, gold Permitted toe/stinger tip colors: Black Permitted eye colors: Black
The dark had always been where these elusive creatures belonged. Now exiled from the caverns they lived centuries ago, shadowcats find their home in dug-out dens in the Barren sands, waiting for the sun to fall and moon to rise once more. Shadowcats are cats built for the dark. If it weren't for CavernClan, they'd be more than happy to take the caverns as their own! Unfortunately with Clan cats occupying most of the island, the few shadowcats remaining (as most cannot stand the conditions of so much light) find themselves hiding under the Oasis or digging themselves holes to squeeze into, away from the harsh heat of the Barren Lands. With dismal, dark pelts and long, spindly torsos, seeing a shadowcat may leave any Clan cat feeling as if they just caught sight of a demon from the Dark Forest itself. Shadowcats bare short-cropped fur that thins into translucent, elastic skin across their underbellies and paws, and large wide-set ears topped with an odd bulb that emits a dull light. A long twisting tail juts from their already seemingly far-too stretched out body, curling into itself with yet another lowly-lit bulb. But their most striking feature? Shadowcats blink open not two, but three striking eyes. Their eyes are seemingly always wide-open like saucers, filling any cat with a sense of dread who dares to meet their unblinking gaze. Perpetual eyebags hang from their lower two eyes, while the center ones appears as energized as ever. If that weren't odd enough, these peculiar felines also seem to lack any sort of mouth. - Note: Shadowcats mind-reading ability is specifically linked to their third eye. They must be looking at their target of choice to read their mind, and if the center eye is missing, obscured, or otherwise damaged, their power cannot be used. Special abilities: -Mind-reading -Reverse photosynthesis (feeds off the dark, not the light) -Prehensile tail Shadowcat heights (at the shoulder) - 16< - Not permitted 15 - 16 inches - Tall 14 - 13 inches - Average 12 - 11 inches - Short 11> - Not permitted Permitted fur colors: Black, medium to dark gray Permitted eye/bulb colors (eye color matches bulb): Yellow, red, purple, green, orange --- [ OCTOBER EXCLUSIVE SPECIES ] These beasts of the night were once considered an urban legend. A feline with snapping jowls and beady, bloodlusting eyes. Some cats say they’ve seen them, racing across the desert sands with the moon’s silver gleam rippling across their backs before disappearing back into the dead of midnight. Whispers rocked the shores, murmuring hushed warnings to beware of “silverpelt’s hunters”. Moons passed, and soon the stories of the cats of the night fizzled out into nothingness. Apprentices roamed the barren sands without fear, elders told no tall tales of the felines turned monster. Yet, sometimes, when the full moon shines bright, one can still hear a mournful call in the desert's distance. A melody of creatures once feared and now lost. Even a CavernClan cat would fear to stand up to the muscled, bulking figure of a mooncat. Beneath thick fur, an arched spine, surrounded by plated bone, protects their low-set neck and shoulders from behind. Long, draping ears fall from either side of their heavily-jowled face, and a thick harshly-furred tail trails behind them with every heavy step. Unfortunately for these legendary hunters, they lack the very skill all cats are known for: claws. Mooncats have dull, rounded claws that can't be sheathed-- no good for fighting. - Note: Mooncats /do/ have a "humpback" per say, and it's not just fur! Please remember to draw them with it as it's part of their species! Special abilities: -Automatically shifts into a wolf or dog at night, but only when the moon is visible (this power will not work/cancel itself if the moon is so little as covered by the clouds) -Excellent sense of smell Mooncat heights (at the shoulder) - 20< - Not permitted 19 - 20 inches - Tall 17 - 18 inches - Average 16 - 15 inches - Short 15> - Not permitted Permitted fur/eye colors: Pick a type of wolf or dog, base the mooncat's design off that wolf/dog. This would also be the same animal that they are able to shift into. --- - Q&A - "Will these species ever become Clans in TSS?" - Nope! They'll be staying as their own cat-adjacent species who never grouped into Clans like seacats, pyrocats, caverncats, falconcats, and icecats did. "Can I make a cat that's one of these species?" - Totally! Although, it can't go any further than a concept unless you got a slot to make one. "How do I get a slot to make one?" - You can buy one in the token shop or win them via giveaways or special litters! "Why are mooncats october exclusive?" - They're werewolf cats! What better time for them to roam than the month known for monsters and scares? "I have another question!" - Ask in the comments! --- @tss-roleplay
