Old project I decided to share. The lanky doodler is a writing and drawing automaton that some random guy made. Look up "lanky doodler" if you want to see what it is exactly. It is a thing that draws something when you crank it. This project is the reverse of the lanky doodler, that creates the cams from the drawing.
My friend who woodworks wanted to make a lanky doodler, but to get the cams (the wheels that make it draw) you had to download an app and pay money. So he asked if I could make a project that creates the cams for any drawing. This project was abandoned right before finishing the last equation, which is for the collisions between the cams and the pegs. It's still pretty accurate, just ever so slightly off and isn't good if you scale it differently. HOW IT WORKS: soO BaSicalllyY, the blue peg rest on the blue cam, and the red peg rest on the red cam. The cams are glued together, and if you were to use them IRL you would drill a peg through the middle and attach a handle so you can crank it. The pegs moving different heights causes the arms to move different ways, making the pen draw an image. You can see what I mean MUCH more clearly if you look up "lanky doodler".
