Thanks to @Csoup for this awesome contest! This has 447 words! It's called Australia because idk what else to call it. This is set in 1866 England. At that time, prisons were starting to fill up, so people who had committed crimes were taken to 'Hulks', old rotting ships that could no longer sail. Eventually, these began to fill up as well. So when Captain Cook discovered Australia is 1806, 60 years before this story takes place, the British Government decided to send convicts to Australia, where new prisons could be set up. The protagonist, Martha, is arrested and taken to a Hulk and is then transported to Australia a year before the last prisoners were taken. In case you were wondering, Martha was arrested for theft. Her Father was greedy, even though they lived a fairly pleasant life, so he got Martha to steal from rich gentlemen that they met on the street. However, one day Martha was caught by a policeman and taken to a Hulk as a punishment.
