Welcome to Chess: Modern warfare edition! You may be thinking: "Chess reskin? Lame." But you are wrong! theres actually an entirely new ruleset, witch I will be putting down below. Infantry (The Rifles) Ah yes, the Infantry. The cornerstone of any army. Equipped with a bayonet rifle and a passionate hatred for the enemy, your infantry will never let you down. Infantry pieces can use a ranged attack in any direction, with a range of 3 tiles, and a melee attack in any direction, with a range of 1 tile. You can only attack once per turn. They can move 1 tile (per turn) in every direction besides backwards and cannot jump over pieces. Artillery (The Cannons) Whats that on the horizon? Why, an artillery shell! duck and cover! Your artillery cannons will be monumental in ensuring victory for your battalion, with a very unique attack system. Cannons can fire for a range of 5 tiles in any given direction, and the fire in question has a splash ability, Killing anything within a 2x2 radius to the cannonball! They can move up to 2 tiles in any direction (unless stated otherwise) , and can only be moved once every 2 turns. Also, cannot jump over pieces and cant move backwards. Bombs Away! Cavalry (The Swords) Clop Clop Clop Clop! In comes the Horseback! Cavalry units are equipped with a sword and pistol, and are ready to kick the battle into high gear! Cavalry pieces have a ranged and melee attack, with the ranged attack having a range of 2 tiles in any given direction, and the melee having a range of 1 tile. They can move up to 3 tiles per turn in any given direction. Can jump over pieces and move backwards. Plane (What do you think?) Whats that overhead? Engines purring perhaps? Look out, the Air support is here! Planes are a very useful unit for any given situation, and there move/attackset is no different! They have a ranged attack, with a range of four tiles along a diagonal line, and a second ranged attack, dropping a bomb down below with a range of 1 tile. Similar to the Artillery's attack, this bomb will kill anything in a 2x2 radius to its detonation site. Planes can only move as far as they want diagonally. But be warned! You can only shoot down another plane with the first ranged attack. Using a bomb on them will cause you to collide and crash! Can jump over pieces and move backwards. Commander (Helmet) Your commander will ensure that everything runs smoothly out on the frontlines, and if necessary will get his hands dirty to protect the general. Commanders have a melee and ranged attack, with the ranged attack having a 2 tile radius in any given direction, and the melee having a 1 tile radius in any given direction. Commanders can move 2 tiles in any direction, but cant jump over pieces. General (Helmet with star) The General. Feared, Respected, and Merciless warlord prepared to sacrifice whatever men he needs to to take the objective. The objective in question? Taking out his other self. The general is equipped with only a ranged attack, being his trusty shotgun. Ranged attack has a radius of a 3x2 and can fire in every direction besides backwards. Can move 1 tile in any direction besides backwards. First person to kill the opposing general wins. Good luck!!! (Oh, and you gotta announce when the opposing general is in cheque.)
