`~°☆ Chapter One: Avalon Once a tale was told of a kingdom far, far away from modern life. A kingdom existing only in the secluded village of Avalon. Filled with trotting horses, flying dragons, rushing brook's and a coveted treasure trove of sacred books and scrolls, Avalon was brimming with excitement and mystery! "Alora! Come check this out!" yelled a boy with red, glossy hair as he ran over to the girl. "Jasper? What is that?" questioned Alora, brushing her hair off to the side. Holding his hands behind his back in order to conceal his find, "I've found it! The Arcane!" He exclaimed, finally revealing a rustic-looking scroll, "Here, take a look and see! I can't believe it!" he said, handing her the document. "Nonsense, Jasper you've gone mad." sighed Alora, scanning the scroll. "This is obviously a foux copy. The seal is wrong, and even the dates are incorrect! I mean it's common knowledge that The Arcane was written in Litha, 1244, but these dates say Giuli, 1242." she stated as she gave it back to him. "Aw what!" he yelled dejectedly, "I really thought I found it.." Without warning a spray of water soaked both Alora and Jasper. "AAAGHH! What in the heavens was that!" shrieked Jasper as he began to frantically ring out his cloak. Out of the water came a guilty-looking young boy, who, by the looks of it, was only around 7. "I'm sorry Sir and Miss. I was only looking for my book. I-I had left it near the brook yesterday and thought nothing of it til' the night, and but my mother, she-she wouldn't let me get it and so, and so--I just didnt see you through the reeds and...I'm very sorry." he stuttered. "It's alright," said Alora as she calmly brushed the water off of her face, "but you must be more careful than that from now on, promise?" she asked. "Yes Miss, of course. May I ask what is your name?" Kneeling down to match his height she responded, "Alora, and yours?" Looking at her in surprise he replied "Leone." Jasper, disgruntled and annoyed, quipped "Leone? Aren't you that boy who nearly broke one of the village wells?" Leone, looking down replied "Ah, uhm well, yes but-" before he could finish Alora gave Jasper quick slap on the mouth. "HEY! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" "For your quick-witted tongue. You should learn to keep it shut more often than you do." she replied. "As for you," turning to Leone, "don't mind him and go on your way." Leone, embarrassed at her kindness, said "Thank you, Miss. Have a good day!" and sprinted off into the reeds. As she began to dry herself off Jasper questioned, "Hey, why did you let that kid off so easy?" he continued, "I got soaked too ya know!" Glancing at him with a disbelieving gaze she said, "You are quite theatric, Jasper. You just have to make a deal of everything, he is just a kid, and I reckon you make mistakes just as dumb at your age." she quipped. Jasper scoffed as he continued to ring out his clothing. "Hey, who is that?" Said Alora, pointing to a masked person a little bit off. "I don't know, but I've seen them around the village before." mentioned Jasper. "It almost looks like they're wearing a monks gown...but it's black.." The figure abruptly turned towards them, then darted behind a wall. "Well that was odd, I didn't think I looked that horrendous." said Jasper. "Yes," agreed Alora, "odd indeed." said she thoughtfully. To be continued...
Next: not out yet Notes: Hii, I know I usually only make art content and I'm on a hiatus but I got a burst of motivation for writing and I think I like this story (as long as I don't forget the plot lmao). Anyways please let me know if you guys would enjoy something like this and if you want to see more chapters and have me continue the plot. STORYNOTE: Litha and Giuli are months of the year. These were ancient names used for the modern months we know today as June and December, respectively.
