This song was an attempt at trying to fully capture the style of Toby Fox's compositions - so I analyzed a bunch of tracks from Undertale and Deltarune to see exactly what makes his writing style distinct. Toby Fox loves to play around with A ≠ 440 Hz, so I did it too: this song is tuned to A ≈ 425 Hz, approximately 50 cents flat of standard tuning. The music sounds a whole lot darker in this tuning, which adds to the air of mystery that I was trying to capture. This track combines instruments from Earthbound with the General MIDI sounds, which is also more akin to how Toby stylizes his instrumentals. I still don't have a copy of the Touhou instruments downloaded (Toby uses those a lot), but I might get them eventually.
