So, I thought I would train Smoky into Eventing. I had to use a rope as a lead, as I don’t have a proper halter/lead for Smoky (or do I have one in general). I took him to my small pen, because my big pen is still a work in progress. When I took him up to the mini ramp/jump, he hesitated, so I walked over and jumped over it to teach him how it’s done. He still hesitated and lingered. I pulled a carrot out of my pocket, and that got his attention. He stood for a minute, thinking about what to do, until he backed up and jumped the thing. He landed and muzzled my hand. I gave him the carrot and pat his muzzle. I took him back to his stall afterwards, deciding tomorrow I’m going to try bareback ride him over some bigger jumps.
