Press space to see a few photos of the Alfa and the Polo :D It's now been over a year since my 'June Update' of 2023 - and many things have changed! Of course, the Panda was sold and an Alfa was bought in return (for £1000 less than I sold the Panda for I must admit!! :D) This week marks 8 months since I bought the Alfa - So how is life going with it? Not brilliantly to be honest! About a month ago I noticed that it was losing power at low rpm, and when I put my foot down there was a cloud of black smoke out the back! Along with this, there was also a really loud rattling at idle. I took this to the Alfa specialist a week or two ago for them to look at. Over £500 later and the smoke & power issue is a lot better, and the rattle has stopped! The smoke was only a MAF sensor so not too bad but the rattle was the air con compressor breaking apart. To fix this I could either spend hundreds on a new air con unit, or bypass it, so unfortunately for the rest of the summer I will need to use the windows to cool down! (Only 3 of the 4 windows actually work.... and the rear one only works with the driver controls...) When I keep spending money on fixing the Alfa, I do get quite fed up of it, but then I look at it or drive it and I fall in love all over again - I think it has to be without a shadow of a doubt one of the best looking fronts to a saloon car of all time - even in facelift form. The MOT runs out in November so we'll see how it fails then, but for the next few months I will be making the most of it! The Polo is also back on the road, and I've been out and about in it for local journeys mostly, but it has been up to caffeine and machine already this year once and I plan on doing so again soon. Theres also a few more shows I plan on attending both this month and next! H&R lowering suspension has also been aquired and I am painting it black before I fit it. I'll also fit it after the MOT to make sure it causes no problems then!
