If you are fighting the same demon- you're not alone. ------- Hello Fear You are an interesting demon You rarely come as yourself Sometimes I don't even recognize you You come disguised as my defense as my allie As my vision of perfection As toughness How large your wardrobe must be hosting all of those exquisite disguises And then there are those times Where I definitely know it's you Destroying my carefully constructed resistance in one swipe How precise your watch must be giving you the exact, perfect time to strike I've never known life without you From a young age You appeared taking the form of the people around me Do you remember that? Do you remember that time when I was two? When I learned for the first time, What shame was? What fear was? You had a presence all through my childhood Do you remember that? Do you remember watching me make my foolish mistakes? Were you cackling? Do you remember those speeches? Speeches I had to copy, word for word Everyone applauded me, But oh your eyes were so bright in the first row Waiting for that tiny slip only you would notice And now you're here Destroying my teenage years In a whole new way Oh yes, there is no longer any need to possess the people around me I'm already scarred for life. You've moved on Is my head a good residence? Does it have a good view of my weaknesses? My slip ups? You take your residence there whispering your lies I know it's a lie but of course you always win Do you enjoy it? Does it give you satisfaction? Am I your canvas, To paint whatever you want on? To scratch whatever you want on?
