My generation is really messed up. There are kids applying makeup in the locker room(or at least they were; my school removed the mirrors), some have like 12-step skincare routines, maybe they'll head straight to the Sephora which is really close to the school so they can get 25 new products, you should get the gist. There are even some kids in relationships. And these are 6th graders. I'm going into 7th grade now. I've never been that serious about skincare or makeup. Most I do is wash my face and moisturize it, then I'm ready. I don't have long routines. And with relationships, I've never been too interested in it. It gets worse with gossip. Everybody knows that Julia is talking to Ronald. Everybody knows that Ronald's ex is Julia's sister Emily.(Really quick, that wasn't real, it was just to give an idea of gossip.) And guess who isn't everybody? Me, Ronald, Julia, and Emily. Gossip is also a problem, especially during passing period, lunch, in the locker rooms, or in the restrooms. I'd consider myself lucky that I am not someone people will come to and talk about others behind their backs to. My best friend is a Sephora kid. She went on a shopping spree there and spent $278.42. When she told me, I couldn't believe it. How does one spend over $50 at Sephora during one day? I will never know. She also bought a Stanley for $45. I've only ever been to Sephora twice(because of her) and use a freaking Walmart water bottle, not a Stanley. I have no clue on what goes on inside of the brains of people like her. All I know is that it's not as similar as mine, which is filled with random ideas that I use to exercise creativity. Being a kid who is not very much like other girls of my generation, how do I fit in? I'd say I'm the black sheep. I'm not interested in beauty and the newest trends. However, being a part of this new generation, I am forced to be around people like this. I've learned to deal with them. I'm genuinely lucky to have friends who are similar. My friend who I'll call K never wears makeup and doesn't want to. She's never been one to be nervous about how she looks. K also isn't a huge fan of the next biggest problem of this generation. Children are way into brain rot as well as looking like 21-year-olds. I kid you not, back in my 6th period class, I'd have kids listening to and singing along to Skibidi Toilet, the bane of my existence. My classmates would also mew during class, call each other sigma, and compare rizz levels. Even friends of mine even say they fanum tax one another. I hate these words and have to deal with it every day. Even at home. My brother mews and even says he fanum taxes me. Yes, I said I hate these words, but I had to use them in order to get the point across: It gets annoying when someone uses these words too many times. Yet another thing that annoys me. Kids my age, despite being too old for this, watch random little kids shows such as Cocomelon. Seriously, they're in middle school entering teenage years and still watch COCOMELON??? I'm watching Murder Drones and Avatar(Yes, kids show, but it's good) while these kids can't leave their precious baby shows. Or they're watching content meant for people older than them. Can't we watch shows and stuff actually meant for us? Apparently not. It's time for one of the worst things. Kids nowadays are dumb. Seriously, calculating area of a triangle is really that hard? You just multiply height by width then divide it by 2. Or divide one of the previous numbers by 2. Say there's a triangle that's 5 cm long(width) and 8 cm tall(height). Divide 8 by 2, 4, and multiply by 5. It's 20cm squared. Or just multiply 8 and 5, 40, and divide by 2. Same answer, 20cm squared. Not only mathematically dumb, but dumb in general. Decision making? They're most likely to choose a choice that doesn't make sense. Go outside and touch grass for once or play your 534,523,427th round of Fortnite this month? They'll choose the latter. Why? "Fortnite is funner than going outside." Or they'll actually choose going outside. Either they touch one piece of grass and run inside or they spend 5 hours out there(both are exaggerations). I'm a 12 year old girl going into 7th grade. I got all A's(other than my B- in PE), I'm not interested in brainrot, I managed honors Math and English, I don't wear makeup, and I am a modest human being who tries her best to make the most of childhood. Other kids my age typically get under B's, use brainrot on a daily basis, aren't necessarily the best choice for honors, wear makeup, (the girls) wear crop tops and short shorts, and they want to be adults. I don't exactly fit in and prefer that. Do I really want to come off as just another stupid child who wants to get Unreal in Fortnite and wear makeup? Absolutely not. I'm sorry about how long this was, I just wanted to post about this. I would love to know that it's not just a few kids like me.
I'll try to be more active now that it's summer break, but I'll probably be preoccupied with writing and whatnot. Edit 11/9/24: I made it sound like I'm a "not like other girls" kind of person. I am not, so try not to think I am.
