this is very random. find summary for the book in my "pick a WIP" project. i'll mark some scenes with *SPOILERS* if it has spoilers for the book. the scenes also have names lol. -how could you hurt a little kid?- *SPOILERS* Ivory couldn't forget, couldn't forgive. And all this pressing Aver was doing was getting on her nerves. "THEY HATED ME OKAY?!" She screamed, blinking back tears. She stood up from the bench and pressed her hands to her eyes, covering up her crying. Just like the countless nights in her room, quietly sobbing so her parents wouldn't come and taunt her. Make her feel worthless. It worked. To this day, she had never felt like she meant anything. To anyone. Lavender hated her, her dad hated her, her mom hated her, and now even Noah hated her. And Aver wasn't helping. She didn't need to think about this right now. She needed to keep her head in the case. Her train of thought broke as Aver wrapped his arms around her and rested his head on her shoulder. "I'm sorry, Ive, they obviously couldn't see how amazing you really are," he whispered. For some reason she couldn't fathom, she felt like Aver cared. Really cared. The tears slipped from her eyes but Aver wiped them away. "Let's go somewhere," he suggested with a twinkle in his dark blue eyes, "To get away from the case for awhile." Ivory nodding, wiping away the rest of her tears. "Lets get some ice cream?" Aver said, as Ivory broke into her iconic Ivory smiled that he loved so much. The smiled only the people she really trusted saw. It warmed his heart knowing she trusted him. -fighting with the parents- *SPOILERS* Ivory tried to open the door to the house quietly but the darn old thing creaked and the light from the upstairs hallway clicked on. "Ivory Jane," the gruff voice of Ivory's father sounded as he climbed down the stairs. "Where on the face of earth were you?!" he started shouted as Ivory's mother stood at the top of the stairs, arms crossed. "I was out. Getting a energy shot from Sheetz for tomorrow," Ivory made up a dumb excuse. "I said where were you?!" her father was now full on yelling and she could feel the tears prickling her eyes. She couldn't cry, she couldn't give them the satisfaction of seeing how much their words got to her. "I was out. Why do you care anyway?" Ivory asked, her voice cracking. "Just get up to your room right now," her mother said, giving her a disappointed look. All Ivory every wanted was for someone to be proud of her. All Ivory only got was everyone being disappointed of her. -opening scene- *NO SPOILERS* The street light flickered as the young cheerleader walked down the cobblestone avenue as she talked on the phone to her boyfriend. Her blonde hair was still wet and the street had puddles seeing as it rained earlier. "Oh my word, you're always SO dramatic!" her boyfriend's voice crackled through the phone. "Whatever," she replied hanging up. She continued walking through the streets of downtown Lake Placid for a good twenty minutes before reaching her destination. The small park by the lake was her comfort spot. The old slide and swing set, she swung on as a kid. She sat on the swing and started kicking her legs. She was confused when the swing came to a sudden stop. She didn't have time to think or scream before a hand was pressed to her mouth and a kn!fe to her neck.
