There was no need for food aboard the Flying Dutchman, and the only thing the crewers ever wanted was rum. He finished the pie and quickly downed his milk, remembering that he had work to do. "Will, Henry and Carina want to explore the market to mingle and look for some items, and I'll be taking them aboard the carriage. Would you like to come along?" Elizabeth asked her husband, as she fastened her coat by the buttons. Will smiled at his wife, thinking that the market would be especially busy today, what with everyone wanting swords and cutlasses nowadays, due to the rise in piracy. 'Now would be a good time to be a blacksmith again,' Will thought resentfully, remembering his past life as a blacksmith in Port Royal. "No thank you, I still have my chores to do around here... not to mention bathing the cat and start working on those swords Henry asked for." He said, even though the cat was already bathed, and the swords were already waiting to be sanded. "Alright then, we'll see you in a spell," Elizabeth said, and gave Will a brief kiss on the cheek as she whipped out the door to meet Henry and Carina outside. "Have fun!" Will called out to them just before the door closed. 'I have some searching of my own to do,' he thought, and started to gather his necessary supplies. An hour later, Will stood with a heavy bag of supplies on his shoulder and his sword at his side, looking warily inside an enormous cavern that looked like a place of nightmares. It was cold and dark, with an eerie gloom that threatened to swallow Will whole. But no- he did not come here to be intimidated. Lighting his lantern, he walked to the centre of the cave and easily found what he had set out to find once more; the Flying Dutchman. Will took a sharp intake of breath as he remembered when he had parked the infamous vessel here a month ago, vowing to never set foot on it again. Yet here he was, doing exactly that. He slowly climbed up onto the ship, and held his lantern out so that the glow was cast all around the deck, illuminating the space. Will looked around the ship, remembering the dozens- no, the hundreds of terrible memories that came with it. There was where he was stabbed and got his heart cut out, there was where he was whipped by his father who had no choice, there he faced off with Davy Jones... Davy Jones. Will mentally shook himself, remembering why he had come onto the ship in the first place. He knew there was no way that he would be able to search the ship alone for answers about Davy Jones with Elizabeth around, and had waited for the opportune moment to follow through with his quest. Jack would be proud. Will headed straight to the captain's quarters, as he had planned, not wanting to linger anymore than necessary on the ship. The door swung open easily, as its hinges were worn and wasted from the years it spent opening and closing by its two masters. Will set his lantern on the desk in the corner of the room and surveyed the area. While the captain's quarters were generally one of the most luxurious (said generously) rooms on a ship, this particular one was of no more beauty than the rest of the grimy vessel. The floors and walls were stained with water from the many voyages that the ship took underground, and the same water had wasted any fabric that was in the room. Most of the room's contents were thrown about by Will in a fleeting rage that overtook him years ago, as he then took a small pleasure in destroying Davy Jones' personal effects, few as though they may be. Now he wished he had not done so; for it would now be harder to look for clues and things that might help him. Will scoured the entire room, searched in between the single mattress of the bed that was never used, turned the cabinets upside-down, and even took the measure of ripping the floorboards from the ground to see if anything was hidden underneath, but to no avail. Will sat on a rickety wooden chair beside the desk and the lantern, starting to give up hope. Surely, if there was anything here, he would have found it already. He put his head back, and wondered if this entire search had just been a waste of time. He thought that Davy Jones either had no more secrets to tell or was just incredibly good at hiding things, for Will thought that if there was anything that he might find it would be here. 'I suppose I ought to search the rest of the ship...' Will thought, unhappily. He picked up his lantern and left the room without looking back. °`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°`°` ⚔️ Notes: ● I know this chapter seemed like a disappointment, but there were important things scattered throughout (the search included) and the word count is running out so ask me any questions you have ok :3
