A boy sat hunched over on the edge of his bed, reading a newspaper. The boy was alone in the room. He had messy jet black hair, and bright emerald green eyes. His hair parted to reveal a lightning scar placed on his forehead. He wore round glasses that glinted in the morning sunlight. Harry Potter sat gazing up and down the front of the newspaper. A moving photo was shaking on the cover. The man was Sirius Black, a wanted wizard, who escaped from Azkaban. He was the first man to do it too. Harry was told not to go looking for him the morning before, at the Leaky Cauldron. He had been there for the last month of the summer. His best friend, Ronald Weasley's family had come and his other best friend Hermione Granger. Harry was quite fond of Hermione, she was amazingly talented even for a muggle-born. Harry turned the paper over. He heard footsteps outside and the door that once stood ajar, opened to reveal Hermione standing there. Harry scrambled up, shoving the newspaper behind his back. "How did you get in here?" Harry asked, "Girls aren't allowed in the Boys' dorms." "Actually, I read that Girls can go to the Boys' dorms but Boys can't go to the Girls' dorms. Apparently we're more trustworthy." Hermione said, sitting down where Harry had just sat. "Oh, okay. What did Professor McGonagall give you last night?" Harry asked, sitting back down next to Hermione. "I'm sorry, Harry, but I can't tell you." Hermione said sadly. "Anyway, I came up here to ask you to hurry up for breakfast. Me and Ron were waiting for you in the common room. I told him to go ahead." Hermione got up and left the room. Harry got up and slipped on his trainers and followed her, his Gryffindor robes billowing behind him as he raced down the steps.
