⊱┊table of contents ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ i. table of contents ii. an introduction to all things burrow iii. why this at all matters iv. what must be taught v. the teachings of moon one vi. the evaluation of moon one vii. the teachings of moon two viii. the evaluation of moon two ix. the teachings of moons three and four x. the evaluation of moons three and four xi. the teachings of moon five xii. the evaluation of moon five xiii. and then what we do for the rest of apprenticeship xiv. final assessment xv. warrior's ceremony + gifts xvi. thanks + stuff ⊱┊an introduction to all things burrow ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ at twenty-eight moons, burrowparade has done a fair amount. she has obviously become an apprentice and then a warrior, having been trained by her own mother, duckdandelion. she has made friends and helped said friends and even trained said friends' apprentices. but she has never trained his very own apprentice. so this truly will be an adventure for both them and their new apprentice. ⊱┊why this at all matters ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ burrowparade didn't think he was ready to be entrusted with the future of a tiny kit! but here he was. burrowparade is a planner by nature, and so it was no surprise that upon hearing the news she immediately set to preparing an extensive plot of what their next few moons would look like. ⊱┊what must be taught ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ to begin, they listed out everything they knew they needed to teach hydrangeapaw: the more theoretical knowledges of flora and fauna within riverclan territory, the details of the clans, and (of course) the warrior code; and the more practical training of hunting, fighting, and basic healing. ⊱┊the teachings of moon one ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ highly organized, burrowparade would likely spend the first moon of hydrangeapaw's apprenticeship devoted almost entirely to the study of the warrior code and of the clans' histories. of course, they would also bring hydie on a tour of the territory, and would teach her the basics of survival in such a treacherous place, like how to navigate the dunes and find water, but the first moon would overall be highly focused on morality. ⊱┊the evaluation of moon one ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ since the first part of hydrangea's apprenticeship is mostly dedicated to the understanding of the warrior code, burrowparade's assessment for her would simply be a quick quiz focused on the subject. ⊱┊the teachings of moon two ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ this moon, on the other paw, will be much more focused on the practical and experience. burrowparade will introduce all sorts of random skills such as swimming, identifying poisonous herbs and plants, escaping and evading predators, patrolling, tree climbing, the basics of fighting, and for some reason, making flower crowns. ⊱┊the evaluation of moon two ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ after a moon of the most random tidbits of information burrowparade could find, this moon's assessment is more self-guided. burrowparade will encourage hydrangeapaw to create and/or share any kind of personal project representing what she has learned over the past moon. ⊱┊the teachings of moons three and four ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ two entire moons devoted solely to the practices pf fighting and hunting. burrowparade will teach many tricks and tactics, with defensive moves being his favourite. ⊱┊the evaluation of moons three and four ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ hydrangeapaw will have two moons to prepare for this assessment, meaning that burr will have no qualms about making it harder than the rest. in this assessment, hydrangeapaw will be expected to alternate between "prey" and "predator" at row's instructions with burrow themself acting as the opposite force, until they manage to "capture" burrow as the predator. if burrow ends up capturing her, he will release her and the two will try again. ⊱┊the teachings of moon five ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ the last "learning" moon of burrow's plan, the fifth moon will be dedicated to preparing hydrangea for warriorhood. burrowparade will likely collaborate with other mentors during this part of her apprenticeship, orchestrating group battle practices and mock patrols. this moon will be much more relaxed than the earlier ones, allowing hydrangeapaw more freedom as to what she wants to do. ⊱┊the evaluation of moon five ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ burrowparade believes strongly in the importance of kits. for hydrangea's moon five assessment, row will actually put her in charge of a few kits with himself secretly watching (possibly his own kits if they are the right age) and expect her to entertain them, keep them out of trouble, and keep them safe, all while cleaning out the entire nursery. this will mainly be to test hydie's attention to detail and ability to multitask. ⊱┊and then ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ of course, hydrangea's apprenticeship would not be over after a mere five moons. for the rest of the period, burrowparade would allow his apprentice even more freedom, nearly as much as a warrior would have, while also helping her prepare for her final assessment, which would take place a few days before her warrior's ceremony.
⊱┊final assessment ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ hydrangea's final assessment would take place within three different parts: hunting, fighting, and morals. for the hunting part, burrowparade would send hydie out with the mission of catching six pieces of prey by sunset—three water, two land, and one airborne. for the fighting, burrowparade would spar with his apprentice in a variety of hypothetical situations to give advantage to one over the other. for the final part of the assessment, burrowparade would quiz hydrangeapaw on a variety of moral-related subjects, including but not limited to the warrior code and treatment of others. ⊱┊warrior ceremony ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ burrowparade, being the sentimental little bean that she is, will undeniably form an emotional attachment with their apprentice. obviously, he will be attending her warrior ceremony, and will even have prepared a special flower crown to present her with the day before. they will also give her a special gift after her vigil, to celebrate her passage into warriorhood. ⊱┊thanks + stuff ₊˚ˑ༄ؘ hey there! thanks for taking the effort to read this entire thing, especially considering the time it took me. i really hope you like it!!
