If I had to use 3 words to describe me, I would use Ambitious, Logical, and Creative. When I was in Middle School, I participated in a Magnet Humanities & Communications Cohort, and I now attend a Magnet High School specializing in Math, Computer Science, and Science. Outside of school, my personal activities include Boy Scouts, Coding, Video Games, Lights & Audio for school plays, and listening to music. To me, Boy Scouts is about a lot more than wilderness skills and campouts, it's about being a good person morally and helping other people. I've done 6 Service Projects for my community so far in my 3 months in Boy Scouts, and I plan on doing more. 2 of my other hobbies, Video Games and Coding, go hand in hand because video games usually give me inspiration for coding. 2. Tell us what Scratch means to you. For example, you could talk about why you value Scratch, how Scratch has impacted your social or academic life, or whatever you would like to share. A: To me, scratch is a place for me to express my ideas. I will frequently have great ideas of all kinds, and Scratch allows me to turn these ideas into a reality. My favorite part of scratch is the community, because it allows me to work on others on some of my projects, and it allows me to be a part of other peoples projects much cooler than mine! I participate in a lot of different regions of Scratch, so I get to meet a lot of new people. 3. Share a favorite experience or memory from your time on Scratch. A: My favorite two experiences are Scratchtober of 2020, and SweatFit, my ongoing project today. Scratchtober was very fun for me because there was something new every day for me to create, and I got to help make it possible for others by curating that studio. I also had a lot of fun making projects to fit the theme! SweatFit is also a fun project for me because I get to see a lot of other people's skills and passions integrate with mine to create this amazing product that I hope somebody out there enjoys. 4. Why do you want to participate in the Youth Advisory Board program? A:I want to participate in the Youth Advisory program because I want to make an impact in my community through feedback, I want to meet leaders that have similar interests as me, I want to see the future of scratch, and I want to help others share their ideas on scratch. 5. If you could share one idea with the Scratch Team for improving Scratch, what would it be? This could be a change to something that already exists or an idea for something Scratch could have in the future. A:If I was to improve scratch I would give users more ways to have unique interactions. Scratch Lab already does this with their "Video Sprites" and "Face Sensing" features, but I think that giving scratch more real world integration like controllers and real world data, like current weather, user end device, and location (just country on profile) of user would help people create a lot cooler things.
