Hey there! I am @-CoolishProfiles-. I make profile pictures (or PFPs)! Here are some guidelines about what I do. WHAT I DO === PFP is short for Profile Picture. It is, well, your profile picture - the picture for your Scratch profile. It is an important and defining part of your Scratch identity - having a good PFP gets you noticed more and gives you a kind of brand identity to go by. I make PFPs - specifically, a certain kind of PFP (see below). REQUEST GUIDELINES === The following guidelines are rules you have to follow to get a PFP. 1 - COMPLY. Your PFP request must follow the Scratch Community Guidelines. That means no PFPs that are: - Suspicious // inappropriate - Overly scary or gory - Discriminatory or that openly shows belief of or acts of prejudice - Mean or violent 2 - TYPE. There are different kinds of PFPs, and I only really make a couple of them. 2.1 I DO make: - Logos - Letters - Abstract - OCs (if I deem them simple enough) 2.2 I do NOT make: - Anime - Faces (or any other body part...) - Overly complicated or realistic OCs - Ultra-realistic - Drawings 3 - REQUEST. To make a PFP request, just make a comment on this project. Your request should include: - What you actually want/envision - things like "just surprise me" or "do what you think" are not accepted. - The main centerpiece of the PFP - e.g. a logo or letter. Tell me clearly what you want it to be, and describe any logos to me as best you can. - The color palate. If you need help with this, check out the TIPS down below. - The style. Should it be semi-realistic (lighting, shading, bloom, etc.), abstract, minimalistic, or anything else? How much depth should it have? If all these requirements seem overwhelming to you, don't worry; just try to at least briefly touch on each subject. If you need help, check out the TIPS down below. 4 - PATIENCE. It takes a varying amount of time for me to make PFPs - anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Constant pestering about whether it's done or not serves no purpose and is just annoying. However, you can do it occasionally. As a sidenote, the following factors determine how much priority a PFP is given (that is, how quickly it's done relative to the other requests): when it was requested, and then any deadlines. TIPS === Here are some tips you can follow when making your request. You don't have to follow them, but you can use them if you're stuck or you need help on something. 1 - ENVISION. Envision what you want! Spend some time to think about and imagine what you want it to look like, and do your best to describe it to me. If you want, you can even make a project (or some other way of creating an image) with a rough draft and show it to me! 2 - STYLE. The style of a PFP is how it looks. Generally, I do a few "styles": - Semi-realistic: This style generally adds depth to a PFP, adding shadows, lighting, bloom, etc. It gives your PFP more depth and realism. - Abstract: This style is near the opposite of Semi-realistic. Abstracts usually have smooth geometric shapes without much depth, and it usually works best with bright contrasting colors. - Minimalistic: Similar to Abstract; however, in Minimalistic, the shapes are generally more hard and rounded then its cousin. Minimalistic also usually works best with a cool color scheme (see below), and also usually have at least some very slight depth and bloom. Feel free to use these, mix them together, or even make up your own styles! 3 - COLOR. The color palate of your PFP is a crucial part of the image! 3.1 Temperature - Generally, colors like red, orange and yellow give off a "warm" vibe. This can make your PFP feel cozy or welcoming. On the other hand, colors like blue, green and white give off more "cool" vibes, which can be ideal for modern or minimalistic PFPs. Pick which temperature works best for you! 3.2 Contrast - Contrast between the icon (centerpiece) and background is an important part of any profile picture, as it helps someone to quickly identify your icon. Contrast can be achieved in two main ways: color, and brightness. For the color type, the centerpiece and the background are different colors, usually contrasting colors (like blue and orange). This can make your PFP stand out. Of the brightness variety, the background is usually the same color as the centerpiece, but is brightened/darkened to a certain degree (sometimes going all the way to white or black). These contrast types can sometimes even be combined.
