a self roleplay taking place recently after Crescentsail's passing. this is a short one as i just decided to quickly write this down one afternoon as i had a bit of motivation for it. ----- Loss... it was something Mourningquiver knew all too well and yet it always came back to him when ze least expected it. too many lives had been taken these past few moons, some expected but yet some also unexpected. Zir first recent loss had been Otterbounce, his godmother. She had passed away of old age while Mourningquiver was residing in Riverclan, ze was shocked to learn the news when travelling to Windclan for a couple days. Zir second loss was Lichenwander... his mom, the only mom ze had left after Rattleskedaddle passed away when Mourningquiver himself was merely only 7 moons old. She had passed away in her sleep, the tom hoped it was peacefully... And the last... the one that had hurt him the most, zir own mate Crescentsail, the one who'd been with him for so many moons... Mourningquiver still found it so hard to accept that she was really gone, especially when they just had their own litter of kits. Ze was now curled up with them in the Riverclan nursery like a mother duck to her ducklings, keeping them safe no matter the cost. The tom looked up at the sky, the silvery full moon shining brightly tonight with stars twinkling around it. it gave Mourningquiver peace knowing they would now be up there, watching over him until it was zir own time to join them. After a few moments ze shook his gaze away from the silverpelt, it would only cause him sadness to mourn over zir loved ones. Living cats needed him more, zir kits needed him more than ever now without their mother. Ze laid down zir head on his large paws, closing his eyes, wrapping his tail tighter around the newborn kits, ''Everything will return to normal someday, no matter how hard life is now'', ze whispered, it wasn't quite just to his kits but to himself too. ''One day everything will be happy again...''
