July 2, 2024: Hurricane Beryl peaks at around 09z with winds anywhere from 165 mph to 175 mph, undoubtedly the strongest July storm on record in terms of winds. Beryl is the earliest Cat 5 in the basin and has broken numerous records throughout it's life.
