Harry awoke the next morning, excited. He didn't understand why he was excited, he just was. Then it clicked, he could leave the Hospital Wing. Harry quickly got to his feet, and checked his watch. it read: 6:27 He had plenty of time to get ready for breakfast. He closed the curtain around the bed, and quickly changed into his robes. He sat on the edge of the bed and slipped on his trainers. He pulled back the curtain. Madam Pomfrey was mixing something next to where Harry's bed was. "Madam Pomfrey, can I leave the Hospital Wing today?" Harry asked, just to make sure he was able to leave. "Mm-hmm," Madam Pomfrey said. Harry walked to the door and pushed it open. He walked towards the Entrance Hall. He sped into the Great Hall and saw Ron and Hermione waiting for him. Hermione waved him over. So he waved back. "Hiya, Harry." She said. Harry grinned. He saw Ron's face and the parcel that he held in his lap. "What's that, Ron?" Harry asked. Ron grimaced. He lifted the parcel onto the table and unwrapped it. Harry's eyes widened. "No!" He said weakly. "I'm sorry, mate, but when you fell it kinda landed in the Whomping Willow, and it ripped it apart. It was gruesome really-" "Ron!" Hermione said, sharply. "What? I want to tell him the truth." Ron said. "Well, just, say that the Whomping Willow got it, don't elaborate!" Hermione argued. Harry just took the remnants of his broom and looked at the chipped and splintered edges of it. "Sorry, mate, really I am. Fred and George found it after the match." Ron added. "It's alright, I can. . .just borrow a school one. Yeah, I'll do that." Harry said. He laid it on the ground and took some bacon to nibble on. Harry sighed. The broom was a gift to him, so he was sad to loose it, but he can't reverse time, or time travel to fix it or prevent it from happening.
