This is a song that I wrote in 2024, aged 14. The sound quality is not great, as I recorded the segments of the song separately, but the main melody ideas still sound nice (in my humble opinion). Lyrics: I’m drifting-drifting-drifting far from home, Away from islands of your love and into the unknown. Memories to guide me, Warm as summer sun, Embrace me with their whispers, As they murmur their farewells. Fly me, fly me past the daybreak, Let me see the gloaming that withers through my veins, Guide me, guide me to the midnight, Where the world behind my smile arises from my fears. I’m falling, falling past all light, Moonbeams ripple in my eyes, Then fade into the night. The life I loved, the life I knew, Tumbles from my grasp, Cascading like waterfalls, Blissful days with you. They’ve gone where I can’t reach them, But to mingle with in dreams, Flutters of remembrance, Amidst a raging sea. And though I’m praying to the sunrise, To anchor them to land, Their essence fades within my mind, Teardrops of sand. Fly me, fly me past the daybreak, Let me see the gloaming that withers through my veins, Guide me, guide me to the midnight, Where the world behind my smile arises from my fears. Only death can know a time, when wander I no more, Along the canyons carved by time, And into lands before. No matter how hard I scream, And cry to stall the future, The rippling fabrics of the skies, Flow no way but forwards. Fly me, fly me past the daybreak, Let me see the gloaming that withers through my veins, Guide me, guide me to the midnight, Where the world behind my smile arises from my fears.
