(Soooo I decided to do a timeskip because it was sort of going nowhere. I decided to kick it back in with you know who returning and with Harry Potter because i thought nothing really interesting could happen without the og villain. We've skipped time two years. Moonshine is now going into her third year. Asher still hasn't returned home, but his organisation still holds meetings in the underbelly of the school, and Moonshine talks to him, and he also sends letters home to regularly correspond with their father. Her friend group is: Maggie, Alexandra, George, Fred (who is still just her "friend") and sometimes Lee Jordan. If you have any more questions just ask in the comments but I think that about sums it up. Let's do this.) The steady thrum of the train beneath her calmed Moonshine as she approached her third year of Hogwarts. Now fourteen, she would be beginning to learn Divination at school. Fred was especially excited by the prospect. "Telling the future's going to be awesome. I'll tell like every flipping thing that's ever going to happen to me." He bounced in his seat excitedly. Alex rolled her eyes. "I don't think that's how it works buddy." Maggie laughed as Fred folded his arms. "We'll see." They spent the train ride talking and flinging sweets at each other. Lee managed to charm a gummy snake to life. It backfired when it slithered off somewhere, and the group spent about thirty minutes living in fear that it was going to jump out. Once they'd reached halfway through their journey, their compartment door slides open. Fred freezes in the action of keeping George in a headlock, and Maggie is sitting up in the rails where you put your luggage. A girl Moonshine had never seen before - possibly a first year - with bushy brown hair and large front teeth stood in the doorway. She glanced from Fred and George and then up to Maggie, shaking her head. "Hello?" George said after a moment, Fred releasing him. "Do you need something?" The girl snaps out of her daze. "Oh! Yes. Have any of you seen a toad? Neville's lost one. His name's Trevor." The girl glances anxiously to each of them in the compartment. George's eyes widen. "Maybe he ate the gummy snake." Alex rolls her eyes again. "No, we haven't seen him, sorry," the girl sighs. "I hope you find him, though." She slides the door shut with a click and carries on down the aisle. They barely have enough time to resume their conversation before the door slid open again. Two boys were outside. One was tall and skinny, with ginger hair and freckles, closely resembling the twins in the compartments. The other boy was short, with wild dark hair, bright green eyes and circular glasses. "George," the taller one said. "D'you know where my robes are? I can't find them." George wrinkles his nose. "Why would I know where they are?" the boy shrugs. "Ask Percy," Fred added in. "He'll probably know." The boy sighs. "You must be Ron, then," Moonshine said. "Fred and George's little brother." Ron nods. "I'm Moonshine." Ron snorts, glancing at Fred. "What?" "Oh, nothing, nothing." he says slowly and deliberately. And then adds on quickly, "Fred talks about you a lot." Maggie laughed, still perched up high with the bags. Fred throws an empty chocolate frog box at Ron. "And who's your friend?" George asks. "Oh, I'm Harry," the other boy says, leaning forwards with an outstretched hand. George hesitates. "Wait, you're not..." "Harry Potter," Ron grins. "Yep." Lee falls off his seat, onto George, who is sitting on the floor for a reason unbeknownst to Moonshine. Harry waves shyly. "And you're sure you don't have my robes?" Ron says again, changing the subject. "Ask Percy!" Fred and George say in unison before sliding the door closed. Fred shakes his head and laughs, "My brother, friends with Harry Potter!" He glances at Moonshine, and they hold one another's gaze before the train rolls to a stop, and they look away.
Thanks to @Alexandra_Riddle for the character of Alex. Scratch keeps telling me that there's a bad word in the chapter above, but I can't work out what it is. If you can figure it out, please could you let me know in the comments?
