Felix Sterling // 23 // mafia doctor // Felix has noticeably feline features, with a defined, high nose bridge; big, round, black eyes that narrow into edges; high cheekbones, and a sharp face line. He has pale gold hair that he dyed from black. They round gently over his head before falling flat into bangs. The silky strands drape over his delicate eyebrows, skimming over his long eyelashes and brushing against his double-lidded eyes. He has elf-like ears, which, paired with his clear complexion, give him a winter pixie feeling. He has long eyelashes and a pinch of sunburnt freckles under his clear black eyes. // Felix’s speech is the equivalent of sandpaper: grating, harsh, splintering, but upon later reflection, surprisingly polished and rational. He always has an age-old incident to criticize, always remembers a tiny slip of the tongue, and uses his brilliant memory to rub salt into his patients' wounds (no pun intended). Most of the time, the other person doesn’t remember what he’s referencing, and that is another point of criticism for the doctor. He's sarcastic, realistic, savage, disapproving, and has a teacher attitude towards his parents. He despises dirty things, with a tinge of mysophobia, and is sometimes shown scrubbing his medical equipment with a face mask and two layers of sanitized gloves. He is held in odd reverence and fear by the whole mafia. //
// Felix Sterling was raised under the shadow of his father, a skilled surgeon with a dazzling reputation. His mother was a college biology professor, and his sister a neurologist when he graduated high school. After graduating medical school, he joined the hospital where his father and older sister worked. One day, a patient blinded by glass in a car accident panicked and flailed, pushing the bed of a two-year-old child with a broken rib. The bed crashed against a wall; the child’s fracture extended, and as she cried in distress, the bone protruded, leading to internal bleeding. Felix and his father participated in the subsequent surgery, but in a combination of damaged skin and small body, the child died. Media blamed Felix's father, who, as a well-known doctor, would bring the most attention. To protect his standing and the hospital's reputation, Felix's family and the hospital administration agreed that his name must be cleared. A less prominent name would be sacrificed. While Felix was away at a seminar, his family contacted the media anonymously, falsely claiming that Felix had made a mistake during the surgery. Upon his return, he found himself fired from the hospital and disowned by his family. A few weeks later, Asa, a friend from medical school, contacted him, telling him that he was all over the news. Felix expressed confusion about his situation, not knowing what happened. Asa (a leading scientist at a mafia) offered to connect him with someone. The said person was a hacker, who showed him what had happened and also presented Felix with his family's long history of bribes and manipulation of media. Felix released it all, securing his family's downfall, and soon accepted the mafia's offer to be their doctor.
