Instructions

CHAPTER ONE I leaned on the metal of my luggage cart, which was holding my trunks for Hogwarts. Delphi got the same letter I got around a month before today years ago although she couldn’t go because… well, it’s really none of your business of what we’re planning. As the clock ticked to 10:57 a.m., I looked around to make sure no filth—I mean, Muggles, sorry— was watching, I waved to Delphi, who THANKFULLY brought me here instead of Euphemia, and ran through the barrier, to see a scarlet-colored train engine right there. ‘And I already wish I was back with Delphi,’ I thought, as I stepped onto the train. After I got on, I started looking for an empty compartment for me, I, and, myself only. As I searched, a few girls tried to get me to sit with them. “Hey, c’mon, over here!” one of them called, with reddish-brownish hair. “Yeah, please sit with us would you?” another said. This one had blonde hair and was sitting next to a brown-black-haired girl. “Guys, stop being so forceful, you gotta ask nicer,” yet another said. She stood up, slightly taller than me. “Sorry about them, I’m Calista Potter,” she said. “Who’re you?” “Er— Amelia Diggory,” I lied, keeping me and Delphi’s cover. “Now, don’t ask any more questions.” When I got myself an empty compartment, I settled in, alone, with my head, leaning on the window, while I watched the land run quickly by. ‘You need to do this. Do it for your mum and dad. Do it for Delphi. Do it for freedom for Euphemia.’ I thought to myself, as four boys cam rolling in. “Oh, sorry didn’t see you there,” one said with curly blonde hair. “AMELIA WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME YOU WHERE HERE?” my cousin, Scorpius, yelled gleefully. “Leave me alone, all of you,” I said in a bored tone. “How do you know her?” another asked. “I’m Albus Potter, you?” he asked, holding out his hand, as I let it stand there, waiting for me to shake it. I didn’t of course “How d’you know me?” I said to Scorpius. “Oh, yeah, well you’ve come over for Sunday dinner multiple times at my grandma’s place, haven’t you?” This was true. He didn’t know I was his late aunt’s daughter, but I /did/ come over to Aunt Narcissa’s house many, many, many times before, although he was there only a few times when I was there. “Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy’s place? Right, I’ve been there a couple times, but still….” I replied “So who are you, again?” said the fourth boy, who hadn’t spoke yet, with brown hair this time. “None of your business. And Scorpius, please do /not/ go shouting my name like that ever again,” I said, annoyed. A few seconds of silence passed, somehow without them speaking. I needed to break it. The urge for the noise of aloneness. The urge for their absence. The urge for the noise of their instructions they will follow…. “WHY WON’T YOU ALL LEAVE ALREADY!?” I yelled at them, making three of them jump, the only one not being the Potter boy. “Oh, so you’re /scared/ of me?” I said in a mocking baby-like voice, smirking. “Well maybe you get /out/ of here is you know what’s good for you.” After they left, there was an amazing silence— one without Euphemia yelling at me or Delphi or me and Delphi, one that Delphi would be proud of, as I was the one who conjured it…. One without Delphi being here for me. That’s what owls are for, right? For sending people you miss letters? Oh, Bella’s going to be put to some good use this year— right, and Bella is my owl, that Delphi got for me when we went to Diagonal Alley, because Euphemia obviously wouldn’t buy me anything useful. I got a pretty good amount of gold Aunt Narcissa got out of my vault for me, not mentioning the huge amount she gave me herself, so I bought a good amount of Jelly Slugs ( jelly is the best thing in the world besides Delphi who is first and me who is second, although Aunt Narcissa is really good too ) and Peppermint Toads from this old woman that pushes some trolley with food on it. After about seven hours, the train came to a halt, and everyone got off in their robes ( I changed mine around two hours before ) and went inside the Hogwarts Castle.
