I started this a month ago on google docs, and I decided to post it on scratch~ (Note: This story is from the perspective of cats. This is kind of a Warriors AU) ( // // Means thought) (Sorry the chapters are so short!) (Minor bl00d and g0re) (Title page made in Bing image creator) Next: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1048724987/ Protologue~ Silver Feather flattened her ears. “Hawk Flight! Snap out of this! Give me back my kits!” Hawk Flight shrugged. “They're my kits too, Silver Feather. I have a right to them. Silver Feather glared at him. “They’re kits, not a mouse! And if you DID have a right to them, you would only have half!” Gleaming red eyes met her gaze. “Well then,” He started. “I’ll take one.” He bowed his huge black head and snatched up the little black one, and took off running. The remaining kit pressed her small wet body to Silver Feather’s side. Thunder rumbled in the clouds above, and a blaze of light flashed across the sky, and Silver Feather heard a shrill screech and a roar of pure fury. //The kit!// She ran, hearing a squeak from the white kit as she ran, and she could hear tiny paw steps behind her. Silver Feather skidded to a halt in front of the fallen tree. //The lightning must have hit it,// She decided. //But Hawk Flight is dead, and the kits are together, and safe.// Silver Feather thought. With a miserable glance at the black tail tip sticking out of the rubble, she ran, desperate to get home. //With hope I might see them again someday…// Chapter one Frosty stopped washing her ears and looked up at the faint sunlight. //Winter will come soon,// She thought. //I’ll miss the warm nights.// Starlight bounded over to her side and licked her between the ears as a greeting. “Sorry I’m late,” she mewed. “I was sorting herbs in the medicine den.” “It’s fine, we can play next time! And we need those herbs for the Badgers and foxes.” Frosty said. //Those horrible creatures!// Starlight sighed. “I know. But I wish we knew more cats. There’s always safety in numbers.” Frosty flicked her ears back in alarm. "Do you really think so?” She asked slowly. Starlight shrugged. “Maybe. But we never found out, did we? But I guess it’s safer like this. We’ve never met another cat up close before.” //And that’s why we stayed close,// But that wasn’t true either. Frosty sighed. //But we only have each other… What else can we do?// “Hey, cheer up!” Her sister bonked her head on Frosty’s side. “Did you see that pheasant I caught today? It was huge!” “I would like to eat it, yes,” Frosty grumbled. She stomped over the fresh-kill pile and dug through until she found the catch. “This is it?” She gasped. “It’s huge! “Thank you.” Starlight mewed. “I almost ran onto the thunderpath trying to catch it!” Frosty laughed and tore off a wing. “Here,” She offered. “I can’t eat it all. I’m going to my nest.” “Of course you are!” Starlight yowled after her. Frosty marched into her makeshift nest and curled up. //Life is good…//
Chapter 2 Dappled moonlight shone brightly through the tree branches, and Starlight quietly played a game of hopscotch through the shimmering shadows, careful not to wake her sister. She let out a mrrow of amusement as I heard a frightened squeal in the corner of the clearing. I hopped nimbly on the patches of light, in joy from her speed and the flexibility in her legs. //I could run all the way to the mountains without stopping! I could beat the strongest leopard in all the land!// Spotting a dark shape zipping through the night sky,// she added, //I could climb the highest mountain faster than an eagle could fly!// She was watching the clouds drift lightly over the moon when she heard a rough snarl behind her. //What in the stars?...// Before Starlight could react, a huge white and black shape knocked into her side with a thud, bowling her over. //A badger!// The enormous mammal slashed out with its front claws, catching her ear. Starlight let out a yelp and leaped back, blood dripping into her eyes. //Well that was ironic…// She screwed up her eyes and slashed out blindly with her claws unsheathed and heard a pained howl from the badger, and she let out a yowl herself, leaped up high enough to clear a lion, and landed squarely on their back, sinking her teeth into the large animal's ear. The badger growled and rolled over, crushing Starlight under its heavy body. //I’m going to die…// In a heartbeat, the weight was pulled off her, and she could see a white pelt flash toward it. //Frosty?// No, this cat was too large, and she didn’t smell like her sister. Starlight pushed herself up on her paws and started towards the fighting… well honestly she had no idea. She paused and made a dash for the badger… Only to crash into another cat. //WHY ARE THERE SO MANY OF THEM!// “H-Hey…” the stranger whispered. “Uh, sorry but Lynx fur told me to make sure you're, um, okay. I’m Winter Frost, by the way.” “Lynx fur?” She echoed. “Is that your littermate?” Winter Frost nodded. “Yup.” He stepped forward and quietly brushed his tail over her flank. “Do you want some herbs for your wounds?” Starlight shook her head slowly. “I’m… fine honestly. I’m Starlight. The other cat is-” “Winter! Come here and escort Frosty to our camp.” The other cat, //Lynx fur?// Came running over, eyes wide. “Ok.” But Starlight could hear the disappointment in his voice. Lynx fur bounded over. //Such high spirits!// “Follow me! I bet you won't be coming back here anytime soon. Come on, I’ll bring you to the camp! I’m Lynx fur!” //Yeah, I noticed.// The white she-cat had leopard patterns all over her pelt. She lead her to the camp, talking and laughing the entire time. But Starlight didn’t take any notice. Her mind was full of screaming cats rampaged by badgers. //And now they’ve taken my home…//
