I changed it so it constantly sets the size to the variable, changed the way the buttons look, and the size and placement of the pen sprite. Hope this helps! (If it isn't always setting the pen size, it doesn't change a thing, apparently.) Since you only asked for help on how to fix it, that's what I tried to do. Besides adding a thumbnail placeholder.
