In The Sacred Realm, Kobolds are a small, draconic and dog-like people that usually reach heights of 2'7-3'5 ft, weighing on average around 20-40 pounds. They possess traits that their draconic relatives, such as dragons, have, but also canine features. They are distantly related to Draconians but are more closely related to drakes, which are wingless dragons. Though they resemble reptiles in nature, kobolds are warm blooded, and have small patches of hair that can grow along their bodies. They can come in any color, but most commonly green, red and yellow. Kobolds mainly live in subterranean and heavily forested environments, the former being where many Kobold clans reside. They are adapted to living in cold and dark environments because of this, and have gained incredible night vision that allows them to see through any darkness, even ones produced by magic, and have also gained a weak sense of echolocation. Kobolds are omnivores, and can eat and digest just about anything. They have a strong sense of smell and are able to navigate maze-like environments with extreme ease, an adaptation that helps them thrive in their labyrinth-like cities. Kobolds are regarded by many others as just pests and foolish. However, kobolds are quite clever and crafty and have been known to make impressive traps, mechanisms and even machines from rudimentary parts. Throughout the ages, Kobold inventors were notorious for their creativity and their clever inventions, that are still in use today. Within Kobold society, typically those who are the most clever and cunning rise up to the top of the social hierarchy. However, many kobold societies follow and worship certain dragons or even wyverns, and will treat that said dragon as their master, sometimes to the dragon's annoyance. They frequently have disputes over borders and territory, causing tension between them and their neighbors. Kobolds love shiny objects as much as other draconic kin do. Although, perhaps a little too much.. they possess a far greater love for hoarding objects even more than mighty dragons. In fact, in many rich kobold clans, their hatchery rooms have nests built with shiny objects. Many kobolds can be found running through cities stealing and pickpocketing off of civilians.
