Gale gazed at the forest below, sitting on a cliff next to a (luckily not thorny) bush. He flicked his tail. Or, he flicked what should've been his tail, and really feels like his tail, but was not a tail. He sighed. The city was always so *loud*. He was glad to be somewhere else for once, even just for a few days. His parents had agreed to take him on a camping trip, and he had been delighted. What he hadn't known was that they'd give him next to no time to be alone. He flicked his not-tail again, and looked at the stars. When you're looking at the stars, you're supposed to look for constellations, right? He hadn't really ever cared about constellations, but he thought he may as well try..... He couldn't see any. Or, if he could, he couldn't recognise any. They were just a bunch of stars, to him. Wait. Wasn't there a book about constellations his parents had told him to take? He searched his bag. Nope, not there. Not like he was surprised. He had only taken the necessary stuff (and a book on animal prints in the vague hope that he'd see deer or wolf prints). He hadn't thought that his parents would let him be away for this long. The book would be back at the campsite, and his parents definitely wouldn't let him out again after coming back there. ... Should he go back? No, he decided. His parents will take him back soon, and there's no point in cutting his already tiny amount of time to himself short. He yawned. He *was* tired, but again, he probably doesn't have much time left. The bushes behind him rustled. Right on cue. And... a hare hops out. Wait... what? A HARE?? He swore a hare couldn't make that much noise. Huh. Well, not what he was expecting, but certainly not bad. He stares at it. And as he stares at it, the hare starts to change, and grow larger, and grow taller and... different. And grow more... more human. He stared at the hare-turned-human. "Hi!" the... whatever it was said. "... Uhh... hi?" "Oh, sorry, haha. I don't normally transform in front of humans-" "Hares don't normally... transform?!" he was trying to talk as quietly as possible without make the hare-being find anything off. It was not as easy as it sounds. "I'm not a hare. I'm a- well- I'm... you can call me a werecreature." "So you're not one?" "Not... really, no. I'm similar to one, that's all you need to know." "Okay... uhh... What's your... name?" "Hmm... Lark! She/it/they, please." Hmm? What did they *mean*, hmm? "I'm- I'm gale, he/they. Nice to meet you!??" "Nice to meet you too!" Lark chirped. "So... why are you here?"
