Chapter one starts here: “Ophem… Open your eyes… Open your eyes!” an ominous voice spoke. Link felt a pull on his eyelids and opened his eyes. He was in a pool of draining blue liquid, wearing a worn shirt that was too small and a pair of pants with their cuffs torn and only went down to his knees. A girl was waking up in another pool next to him. She was wearing a shirt like his but it fit her better and a pair of shorts that didn’t look like they were in terrible condition. Linkle! He remembered Linkle, his sister but he couldn’t remember why he was there. There was a pedestal with markings like constellations on it and they were orange. He and his sister both got up and had an instinct to walk towards it. “Link, Linkle,” the voice said. “On the pedestal is a Sheikah Slate. Take it for your journeys and press the center of the Mind’s Eye. Linkle pressed the button and the Sheikah Slate. It unscrewed itself and it turned into two small Sheikah Slates. “I think we both take one,” Link said. He hadn’t talked in a while. “Yes,” Linkle replied. After the Sheikah Slate was taken from the pedestal a door opened. Link was recovering a few memories about him and Linkle but that was it. In the next room there were two chests. They opened them but they were empty. There was another pedestal in that room. “Place the Sheikah Slate on the pedestal. That will show you the way,” the voice remarked. They put the slate on the glowing table. It unlocked another door. A bright light shone through the newly opened door. Link and Linkle looked towards the light and shaded their eyes. “You two… you are the light–our light–that must shine upon Hyrule once again. Now, go…” the voice said. Linkle ran ahead to the next room. “C’mon Link!!!” she exclaimed. Linkle ran ahead not looking in front of her. She ran through a large puddle and smacked herself into a large boulder. “Owwww…” she mumbled. Link glanced at her. He preferred not to speak unless he had to or Linkle was the only one around. Linkle usually would talk for him. “Be more careful, I know,” she sighed. “I think we can climb it!” she exclaimed. Link nodded. He put his fingers onto areas he could grip and put his feet into cracks and crevices. At that moment he felt like he had been climbing for years he could do it without trouble at all. He easily made it to the top and Linkle followed. “Hey, that was easier than I had thought!” Linkle smiled. Link smiled back. They both ran up towards the light and ran onto a cliff that looked over the whole land. A castle. Ruins. Forests. Even a volcano! The moment was everything. Then it was interrupted by Linkle’s shouts. “Ahhhh!!!” Linkle screamed. Link didn’t have to think back to know that his younger sister was clumsy. Very clumsy. She would always never look where she was going, leave the Cucco coop door open, or trip and fall on top of something. In this case she didn’t look where she was going and lost her balance on the edge of the cliff. “I gotcha,” Link sighed, grabbing Linkle’s arm. “Sorry!” she giggled. Link rolled his eyes. They walked back to the entrance of the chamber they woke up in. Then they followed a path that led them to an old man. “Hello,” he said. “We don’t get many travelers around here.” “Yeah. Uhh we don’t actually know where we are,” Linkle said, fidgeting with her two braids. “Welcome to the Great Plateau!” the old man exclaimed. “Take anything you like!” Linkle picked up a baked apple. Link glared at her. “Coming,” she sighed. Link looked at his half of the Sheikah Slate. There looked to be a map that was missing. Just then a yellow pin appeared on the blank blue screen. “Go to the glowing mark,” the voice whispered. Link gestured his head towards the path and Linkle followed. On the map there was a yellow arrow icon for where you are. After a few minutes of walking they reached a cave-type thing with a Sheikah Slate pedestal. Without thinking Linkle took Link’s Slate and combined them. Then she placed the Sheikah Slate on the pedestal and the ground shook. The Top of the cave was starting to collapse. Linkle and Link both fell to the ground and realized it felt a lot like the walls and floors in the chamber they woke up in. Thank you for reading!!!!!
