In the world of Duask, people use ‘splints’ as currency. Most banks keep various objects of historical significance. A splint signifies the ownership of one ten thousandth (1/10,000) of that object. Which item and the number of splint for that item is carved onto the wood. The objects currently within the Salindor Bank are: Firefly Lantern (FL): A traveller once mapped out the entirety of this continent, this Lantern their constant companion. Whilst the fireflies in it have long since died, their spirits provide constant light. If you hold this lantern it is said that you can find your way to any location on this continent. The information may be a bit outdated though. Wind Horn (WH): The people of Saltrock City in the past worshipped the winds. Some still do. In those old days, this horn resided in a temple. Those who wish to pray to the winds need only blow into this horn. It allows you to communicate to anybody in the world, though you cannot hear their reply. Glass Dagger (GD): Some deranged researcher once wondered if they killed enough people with a dagger, would it gain powers? They proceeded to wipe out a few small villages, and indeed it worked. They were executed soon after. The powers of this blade are undisclosed.
Atra’s Notes: Congratulations! This fancy little piece of wood means you own a ten thousandth of this really cool item! I mean, it’s a good system, don’t get me wrong. It’s when the splints themselves gain historical significance that it gets messy. --- If you have any questions about splints, just ask!
