When we got inside, Melania and Sakura sat down at a table, as we followed McGongall towards a wooden stool which was supporting a dirty, ragged, aged hat. “I think that’s called the Sorting Hat,” Delphine told us. “When I call your name, please come forth, and I shall put the Sorting Hat on your head.” she ordered us. “Ding ding ding,” Haize whispered to Delphine. “How long d’y’all think it’s gonna take for this to get over with?” I asked Astrid. “No idea, probably just until everyone’s done,” she replied. “Well I know /that/.” “Hey Del, Sarrie, Astrid, get over here,” Haize told us, as we scooted closer to her. “Black, Asher.” the woman said as a boy walked up to the seat. “Hmm, right. GRYFFINDOR!” it bellowed. There was a lot of noise coming from one of the four, long tables. “Black, Estella.” “Ah, HUFFLEPUFF!” the hat yelled. //Wow, how many cousins do we have?// I found myself thinking. “Black, Heidi,” she called. “Okay, we have too many people in this family,” Astrid said to the other three of us, as she was placed in Ravenclaw. “Brown, Felix.” “Ah, RAVENCLAW!” “Delacour, Christelle,” she announced. “Hm why not HUFFLEPUFF!” “Diggory, Amelia.” “How about… SLYTHERIN!” //I thought all the Diggorys were in Hufflepuff// I thought. “Hufflepuff-Lupin, Aiden.” “I know! RAVENCLAW!” “Harp, Savanna.” “GRYFFINDOR!” “Lupin, Astrid.” “You got this, Astrid,” Haize muttered to her. “It’ll be alright,” I said. “Ahh, let’s see. RAVENCLAW!” //Let’s just hope I’m also in Ravenclaw// I caught myself thinking. “Lupin, Sarah,” the woman declared. //Oh lord, oh lord, oh lord, oh lord, Sare, don’t stress, do /not/ stress.// “Hm much like your mother I see.” //Shut up, and don’t speak to me about my mother// I thought to the hat so it would stop talking to me about my dead parents. “How about HUFFLEPUFF!” //But what about Astrid? Oh, please let Haize or Delly get Hufflepuff, oh, please// I said in my mind desperately, heading to the Hufflepuff table as Delphine walked up towards the filthy thing. “HUFFLEPUFF!” it declared as she walked towards me and sat down a seat to my right. “D’you think Haize’s gonna get Hufflepuff?” she asked me. “I maybe, I dunno, I hope so,” I answered. “Malfoy, Scorpius.” “Hmm… SLYTHERIN!” “Mintz, Brooklynn.” “Ah, yes, GRYFFINDOR!” “Wow, this’s taking a really— Sarrie, Haize’s doing it now,” Delly told me. “Why not HUFFLEPUFF!” “YES!” I whisper-yelled through my teeth, as Haize came trotting over to us. “Smith, Draconia.” “Ah, hmm, HUFFLEPUFF!” “Who’s that Smith girl, eh?” Haize questioned me. “No idea, really,” I replied as “Vespertina, Ayla,” was sorted into Slytherin. “Willow, Lyla.” “How about HUFFLEPUFF!” “Wood, Xander.” “GRYFFINDOR!” After all the rest of the people were sorted, a huge feast began, and once everyone was done, an assortment of desserts filled the table. As the plates cleared, the woman, who I guess was the headmistress, stood up. “Prefects, lead your houses to the common room and into the dormitories,” she ordered them. “I wonder who we’ll be sharing dorms with,” Delly told me and Haize, as we followed the prefects to the dormitories. “Yeah, it better be someone nice.” I said.“Oh, it’s not just one person, it’s like four or five or something like that,” Haize said. “M’kay, that’s probably better.” We went to find the dorms that we were supposed to be in. //What if this’s it…?// I thought, as I looked over a wooden plate with gold lettering that read, “CHRISTELLE DELACOUR “SARAH LUPIN “DELPHINE MALFOY “DRACONIA SMITH “LYLA WILLOW” “Delly, I found ours!” I called to her. “Well, see you two in the morning, I guess! Night, Sarrie, Del!” Haize said to us. “Night Haize!” I replied.
