Grove waited patiently. He wasn't the type of person that got impatient quickly. He had been waiting for about 20 minutes when Basil arrived, slinking into the alleyway, his brown colored for ruffled from the massive crowd. Today was a busy day in the town market. He looked around, his tail twitching when he spotted Grove. Grove stared at him through his mask and watched as his dark green eyes suddenly shifted into nothing but black abyss except for a dark green circle as the pupil. He sighed and seemed less tense as Grove silently paced towards him. Basil looked up at Grove. He was tall. Taller than he had last seen him. Then again, that was almost a decade ago. "Oh good! Your here!" For a feared and powerful killer, his voice was almost...calming. It wasn't deep or gruff, as some people thought it was, but soft and a little high-pitched. His eyes lit up when he saw Basil, or at least they seemed too. It was hard to tell behind that cracked mask, and by the way his eyes were. Entirely black, except for that dark blue circle, just like Basil's. Basil nodded. "So, uh...how are you doing? Are you tired? Hungry? It's been three days since you possesed that old man, and I see..." He glanced a misshapen lump underneath a tarp, hidden behind some cardboard boxes. "...he was already decaying." Grove sighed, a glint of sadness in his eyes. Basil didn't understand why he disliked his power, but he didn't question him. It was extremly hard to even irritate Grove, but since Basil didn't have the mark like Coraline and Feuiya did, he wouldn't risk it. "Yes. The old ones don't last long. But, I'm fine. I can go without another vessel for a bit longer, since the plan is in motion." Basil nodded. "Mendax is. Feuiya and Coraline are set to arrive here at 2:00. You have at least one hour to prepare." He replied, and started to walk away. "Oh! One last thing Basil...could you um...visit? Sometimes at least? I'll be hare until next week at least, since the Council still needs some time." Basil hesitated. "Sure." He finally said after a few moments of silence. Grove nodded. "Thank you." He said as Basil walked out of the alleyway, shifting his eyes back to normal. He had sometime until he had to go, so he began to think about Grove's...No. Grove's and his powers.
