They aren't visible or touchable to most expect those they care/hate: that's how it works for all ghosts. Ghosts also turn into the species they resemble personality-wise the most, transforming bit after bit the first mark when they die and after the hundred year mark they fully turn into the said species which is, in this case, a moth. Anyways... Moth died in a forest searching for a long lost treasure in which we aren't sure exists. Some bypassers can see them but they're mainly criminals so the locals aren't sure if Moth is real or not. Since Moth is already dead they only have to worry about getting stuck and not about the dangers. While searching for the treasure Moth came across a local in a cabin, who seemed to be packing up. After watching the local for a while Moth started to care about the local, flickering in and out of his vision. After figuring out that he was leaving for a bigger and safer city due to this rumored ghost, Moth fully appeared and tried to convince him to stay bothering him every corner Moth could. Eventually Moth convinced him to stay and figured out his name "Cherry". Death story: Moth died because they fell in a hole cut off from air and died from suffocation. 10 days later the locals took notice and dug Moth up for an actual funeral. But they disappeared with a sighting saying they walked into the forest, the viewer too frightened to move.
