ghosts <333 (ft the siblings!! cass is orion’s older sister so she’s a newer addition to the family) I swing open the door to my apartment, hearing the small paws of my cat click against the wooden floor. I shut the door and flip the light on, scooping the black tabby up into my arms and smiling. I gently put my keys on the glass living table as I walk to curl up on the couch with him. But a sudden crashing noise seemed to make him scared, and he ran off to go hide behind one of the fake plants. I sigh, looking towards the source of it. I took slow, quiet steps, turning the bathroom light on to reveal- A ghost. Ohhh, my gosh, I can see ghosts, what the actual- This is terrifying, what do I do!? “..H-Hello?” The individual, whose voice is so soft and quiet that I can barely hear them, looks at me, studying my shocked, slightly concerned expression. “Oh, I’m so sorry for scaring you!!” “N-No, I’m not scared, I just… Look, a GHOST just broke into my house. Yes, I’m scared, ugh, no, I’m sorry, I should really-!” A quick burst of blue light envelopes the whole room, and I have to blink rapidly to see clearly. The sight in front of me is… I couldn’t tell what I was feeling. She looked so familiar, it was terrifying. I couldn’t just assume this was her. I had to be sure first. She put out her hand for me to shake, and I hesitantly reached for it. She looked human now, but would my hand still go through hers..? I gently placed my hand over the one in front of me, not surprised that mine just… Phased right through it like nothing. “I’m so sorry, I got lost and… Look, forget the story. You can call me Cassie.” Cassie. I tried to hide the tears in my eyes, but I was clearly failing if my vision was blurring. She seemed concerned as she took a small step towards me. “Is everything okay..? You’re shaking…” “Yes, I-I’m perfectly fine…” I managed to choke out, wiping my eyes and trying to force a smile onto my face. But I couldn’t put up a facade any longer. I worked up the courage to ask her. “..Cassie, what are you doing here-?” I take back the fact that she’s still a ghost and she still goes through things, I was practically jumped onto, wrapped into one of the tightest hugs ever. “..Silly, I’m here to see you.” She mumbles, ruffling my hair.
