If it is your first time playing through - I recommend not skipping the tutorial!!! IMPORTANT!!! You will only understand this once you start playing but when you drag a food card to one of the active slots make sure it is only touching the active slot you want it in and NOT the other - I have made it like this so that people wouldn't get frustrated if it snaps to the wrong one! Anyway - carry on reading the instructions. There are just mouse controls. Click to go through text. Mobile-friendly! I recommend to play this in fullscreen. You can also use a touchpad as it is not a fast-paced game. Ok - now that we got the boring control stuff out of the way it is time for THE STORY! The Story You have a pretty boring life... you eat and sleep and that is about it. But one day you found an old scroll and it said - ahem... You've had a very boring life so far, So make yourself a raft to cross the sea, There lies an island where you see each star, An island where each being there is free. There shall you go to start your life from scratch, A carrot? will guide you to feed gobbles, This new life, fun, you could have, you must snatch, Don't fear, don't run, and please do not tremble. You now have this great opportunity, So be the best gobble feeder, for me. So you buy a boat and set sail. You arrive on the island where a voice starts talking to you (now start the game). The Gobble Guide (Please only read this section once you are told to in the game) Welcome to the gobble guide! In here you will find everything! Do remember that you can find out most things just by hovering over them, though. Active Slots The blue slots on the right of your screen are called 'Active Slots'. You place gobbles on these slots to 'activate' them - this means that you can now feed them with food cards! You can only have one gobble in each active slot at a time. When you are feeding a gobble - make sure that you put the food card ONLY on the active slot you want - otherwise nothing will happen. It is like this so that you don't get frustrated if it snaps to the wrong one. Once a gobble is in an active slot you can't move it anywhere else anymore. Gobble Cards The brown cards that appear on the right are called 'Gobble Cards'. Gobble cards are how you get points for the score. If a gobble is 'small', you will get 1 point added to the score you will get once the gobble is fed; if a gobble is 'medium', 2 points added and if 'large', 4 points added! If a gobble is small, you need 2 units of the food it eats to fill it up; if it is medium, you will need 3 units of food and if it is large, you will need 5 units of food! If you don't do anything with a gobble when you get it, then it will go away at the end of the turn and your score will go down by one point. Each gobble has a class which also affects the score you get from feeding them. The class also tells you how long it will take for the gobble to get hangry once it is active and will tell you how many points you lose if it gets hangry. But the main thing that the class decides is what food class the gobble eats. If a gobble gets hangry but it is medium or big, you get 1 point back because it is a more difficult challenge. Food Cards Food cards cannot be played into the active slots. They are purple cards use to feed gobble cards. Each food card has a size and a class. The size determines how many units of food the gobble gets: small _ 1 unit, medium _ 2 units, large _ 10 units. The food class is there to show which gobble cards can eat it! Save Crystal The green circle in the middle of the screen is called the 'Save Crystal'. The Save Crystal is used to save a gobble or food card across to the next turn. You can only save each card ONCE! Only one card can go on the Save Crystal at a time. The Save Crystal does NOT activate any cards. Some uses of the Save Crystal would be if you had a food card but no gobble to feed it to, so you can save it to next turn to see if it will have anymore use or you could use it to save a gobble for one more turn before activating it or maybe there aren't any spaces to activate a gobble in your hand so you save it for next turn where one might be fed. Numbers The numbers at the top of your screen tell you in order from left to right: which turn you are on of the level, which turn the level will end on, the score you are on, and the score you need to get to by the end of the level (the goal). End Turn Press the 'End Turn' button at the top of your screen to confirm that you have ended your turn. Always remember that if you forget / don't know something, you can hover over most things and a mini-description will pop up.

Thank you to @griffpatch @Griffpatch-Academy @griffpatch_tutor for setting up the Griffpatch Academy July Game Jam! (Without the game jam I wouldn't have made this game!!!) This has really stretched my abilities as a programmer and I never knew that I could even do this but you have definitely brought out the best of me. All music by me All sound by me All art by me All programming by me other than two life-saving tutorials by @griffpatch which helped me make a text engine and some number counters. Thanks to my mum for playtesting the game! I will add an endless rogue-like mode in the game in the future but I haven't had time yet! I hope you enjoy.
