Chapter two starts here: The cave rose into a platform which rose into a tower. All across the land Linkle could see towers rising from the ground splitting rock in two, some short and some tall. All of them were orange except the one Linkle and Link were on. The Sheikah Slates put together were fitted into a slot on the pedestal and a stalactite-looking thing had ancient text running down it, forming a drop of a blue substance. It eventually dropped onto the Sheikah Slates and a map appeared. It looked empty but then a full map appeared. The tower was on the map and so was the room they woke up in. Then the Sheikah Slates popped out of the pedestal and Linkle took it. She split them and gave Link his half. She turned around and looked out upon the land. The wind blew soft and a light was coming from the castle in the distance. “Remember…” the female voice who had guided them before said. “Try… Try to remember… You have been asleep for the past one hundred years.” Just then the ground began to shake again. More towers!? Linkle thought. “The beast…” the voice continued. “When the beast regains its true power this world will face its end. A creature of black and magenta smoke rose from the castle. It roared and had eyes glowing as bright as the light from the castle. “Now then…” the voice spoke. “You must hurry. Before it’s too late…” Then there was silence. “So…” Link said. “How do we get down?” Linkle finished for him. Link led her to an opening. There were three but two had been blocked by falling rocks. One of them hadn’t and Link jumped down it. “Link!” Linkle cried. She peered down to see Link standing on a platform. He waved his hand signaling her to follow. She jumped down and landed on the platform. It was more like a really steep set of stairs. They made it to the bottom and then the Old Man called out. He rode in on a paraglider and landed in front of him. “I see this tower has appeared and more have come up across Hyrule,” he said. “If you don’t mind me asking… Did anything… odd occur while you were atop the tower?” “We heard a voice!” Linkle blurted out. “A voice, you say?” he chuckled. “Did you recognize who this was?” Link shook his head. “Did you see what happened at that castle?” he asked. This man sure asks a lot of questions, Linkle thought. “Yes, the voice mentioned something about a beast of some sort,” Linkle replied. “That is Calamity Ganon,” he said with a stoic face. “It woke 100 years ago. It destroyed these lands and killed many many innocent souls.” He wouldn’t look at the siblings. “It is being held back by something but will soon regain its power.” He turned to Link and Linkle. “I wonder, do you intend to go to that castle?” Link nodded. The Old Man grinned for a second. “I do believe you’ll need a way down this ruin. If you had a paraglider then you may be able to escape this plateau. I have one.” “Hand it over!” Linkle spat, suddenly angry that the man was almost mocking them. “Only if I can have something in return!” The man turned towards a building of some sort that Linkle hadn’t seen until then. “See that?” he said. “That began glowing at the exact moment you activated that tower. I think it might have some treasure. Maybe something for the glider.” Linkle felt a rage come to her. “Hey, what about the other person!” she hissed. “Only one would be able to go!” “Sorry little girl!” Linkle wanted to st the man through the heart for calling her a ‘little girl’. She pounced on him and knocked him to the ground. LInk pried her off of him. “Ok, ok,” he said, shakily. “Can have your brother go down to the stable nearby and make you another. “No!” she yelled. “I go! He stays!” “But you're weak!” the Old Man fought back. “Look, you can go, Linkle,” Link said calmly. The Old Man dusted himself off and stood up. “Get the treasure from that shrine!” he hissed and then faded away. “Argh!!! Where did he go!!!!” Linkle wanted to destroy the man. He must have never believed in women. “To the shrine?” Link asked. He didn’t talk much but this was a dire situation. “To the shrine,” Linkle sighed with the fire in her heart burning.
