I started this a month ago on google docs, and I decided to post it on scratch~ (Note: This story is from the perspective of cats. This is kind of a Warriors AU) ( // // Means thought) (Sorry the chapters are so short!) (Title page made with Bing image creator) Next: None Chapter 3 Mist Cloud watched her sister’s silver tail tip flick back and forth enticingly. She reached out with a tiny black paw to bat it. It was boring, sitting here in the nursery while listening to the commotion outside. Moon Flower leaped to her paws. “Intruder aler- Oh, it’s you.” She shuffled down in her nest to turn and tucked her paws underneath her into a ‘loaf’ pose. She squinted at her. “What did I say about batting my tail!” Mist laughed. “I was only playing!” “Not funny Mist!” Acorn fur poked her head in. “Kits,” She childed, “Stop fighting. We have guests.” Moon Flower perked up. “Guests?” Their mother nodded. “Yes, dear. Guests. Frosty Night and Starlight Dapple will be joining us now.” A patchy white cat, Frosty Night? Bounded over to the nest curled up. Acorn Fur laughed. “Looks like someone is sleepy.” Mist turned her head to face the strangest looking cat she’d ever seen. She had blueish-black fur, white dots on her back like a deer and bands of stars on her paws and tail. She must have felt Mist staring at her, as she whipped her head around and held her gaze with those glowing blue and red eyes. //These two are kin!? I don’t believe a word of it!// “Hi.” “H-Hi?” She asked back. “Starlight.” “What’s a Starlight?” “Starlight. That’s my name.” “I thought your name was Starlight Dapple?” “Yeah, but I used to be a ‘loner’, if that’s what YOU call it.” “What the heck?!” “Yeah,” She said. “But I guess they want to change my name.” “Well that’s just stupid,” Mist replied. Who the HECK are they, and why are they in MY camp! “You can’t just change someone's name. I wouldn’t like it if, say, I was joining a rogue group and they told me I’m called, I dunno, ‘Tree’ or something.” Starlight gave Mist an amused look. “Really,” She said, with pure sarcasm in her voice. “What?” Mist snapped back. “You…” She paused, as if looking for words. “Don’t… look like a ‘Tree’ to me.” Mist thought about this for a second. “Well last time I checked, I haven’t grown a trunk or branches yet, so I suppose you’re right.” Starlight laughed, which came as a surprise to Mist. Moon raised an eyebrow. “Hey there you two, may you please be just a little bit quieter? There are cats trying to sleep!” “Sorry Moon,” Mist said apologetically. //Darn I forgot she was there…// “We’ll leave.” Starlight gave her a look that made Mist feel like she had just grown wings or something. Mist ushered her out the den. “So... uh, introductions, please?” Starlight asked. “Oh!” Mist said. “Sure. I’m Mist Cloud, but you can call me Mist. That’s how it works in here actually, so Robin Wing would be Robin, for example.” “Is there a cat named Robin Wing here?” Starlight asked. Mist shook her head. “No. It’s just the first name I could come up with.” She looked around. “There might be similar names though.” “Moon, who is Moon Flower, is my sister. Our mom is Acorn Fur and Dad is Oak Leaf. Grandfather-” “W-Wait,” Starlight interrupted. “Grandfather? The cats here live old enough to have grandfathers? I don’t even have parents!” “Oh, no, no, no.” Mist said in a hurry. “I’m just lucky.” She tilted her head to the huge rock in the center of her camp. “My grandfather is the leader, Clear Ice.” “Oooohhhhh,” Starlight said, as if everything finally made sense. Does she think I’m bad at explaining things? “Ah. Much more realistic.” Mist nodded. “So… your sister, Frosty, I assume?” “Yep.” Her new Friend? Intruder? Strange cat? ducked her head and smiled. “This place is big.” “Oh, I’ll give you a tour,” Mist grinned back. “Come on!”
Chapter 4~ Frosty Night woke to the sound of robins, pawsteps, and the voices of cats. //Aaaarrrrgggghhhh why is this place so loud?!// Standing up drowsly, she took in the world around her. “Good morning~” Frosty snapped her head up to see a dappled tortoiseshell she-cat grinning at her. “Hey new cat, what are you doing?” “I was having the best sleep of my life before YOU woke me up.” Frosty said in annoyance. “Oops!” The she-cat blinked apologetically. “Sorry, it’s just that Clear Ice wants you and Starlight in his den at sunhigh, so I woke you up for breakfast. I’m Sparrow Feather, by the way.” “Sparrow Feather.” Frosty echoed. “Sparrow Feather.” She said it until she remembered it. “Well then Sparrow,” She started. “I should be going.” Storming out of the den, Frosty pushed roughly past Sparrow, and went to the prey pile, (Although it was more like a few pieces of prey then a pile) and grabbed a squashed rabbit from the bottom. //Ah well. Good enough.// She decided to go and sit in the corner for some quiet time, thinking, thinking, and thinking. //Should I say sorry to Sparrow for being rude? It was just my morning grumpiness… Hmm… I wonder why the leader wants me. Why is Starlight always looking around like she’s looking for someone?// “Earth to Frosty?” Even though she was just thinking about her sister, her voice still made her jump. “U-Uh…” Starlight squinted at her. “Is that a squashed rabbit?” Frosty nodded. “Yup.” “ILLEGAL!” Starlight yelled, making some sleepy faces poke out their dens. “PRISON!” Frosty laughed. She and Starlight had heard that from some humans, and now everytime Frosty did something strange or bad, Starlight would scream and make her laugh. Frosty leaned against her sister, giggling. “Ok, want to share?” Starlight shook her head, the morning sun rippling through fur like a black river. “I got a wren already. You should share with someone else though,” She suggested. “It’s really big.” That was true. Frosty could barely drag it to her corner. “Ok.” Raising her voice a little she yelled, “Does anyone want to share my rabbit?” “I can.” Lynx Fur padded up to her smiling. “Well, if you don’t mind.” Frosty nodded slowly. “Of course I don’t mind.” Ripping off the rabbit's leg and part of its body she threw it gingerly to Lynx. “Here, have this.” “Thank you!” She said in sing-song as she walked away. Starlight turned her head to dip it and smile. “I’m going to go and talk to Mist and Moon.” She walked away, making the corner feel suddenly hollow. //…why…why…do I have to be here? Why…// “Frosty, the leader is waiting!” “Ok sorry! Thanks, Lynx!” Running off, she pushed through the ivy vines that covered the doorway. “Finally, you two. Is your time management really this bad?” Clear Ice was smiling down at her, talking in a friendly, teasing tone. “Well, you’re here now,” he said with a shrug. “Let’s start.” “Why did you call us here?” Starlight asked promptly. Of course she asked. Starlight always asked. “To talk to you. Me and Thistle Thorn have been thinking about letting you guys join our group.” “Thistle?” Starlight echoed, and at the same time Frosty blurted out, “Join your group? Have you gone mad?” Clear smiled. “One: He’s the deputy, so he’ll be leader if I die, Two: No, I’m not mad.” Frosty paced in small, panicked circles in the den. “B-But we grew up in that hollow…” Clear narrowed his eyes, and suddenly Frosty realized why the group would follow him, with that intense glare. “And you will live here.” Starlight widened her eyes. “But surely…” “Are you sure…” Frosty started.” “LISTEN!” He shouted. Both sisters jumped. He softened his voice. “There is no time to linger in the past. The future is coming, and you two must face it, whether you like it or not…”
