Hermione's pov: Hermione ran towards the park. Beads of sweat circled her face from the desert-hot sun. Her skin had already caught sunburn. If her skin was like this after spending 20 minutes in the sun, she feared what Isabella and Jacqueline's skin would look like after spending almost an hour. The day's events were now a blur in her mind as she darted towards the park, a wave of dread had washed over her. What if Isabell was dead by the time she and the twins arrived back? It would have been all her fault. When she reached the park, she found Bella playing with the dirt. Jackie was playing in the swing. Both of them looked tense which made Hermione feel even more guilty, when the twins finally noticed her, their eyes widened. "'Mione!" Jackie called, "Where the heck have you been" Hermione panted, out of breath, she couldn't work out what to say. "Oh shi-" she was about to mutter about how the hell she was going to explain the situation but Bella interrupted her, "Mom told you not to swear" Hermione's eyes widen in annoyance. Ever since she was 7 she had a problem with swearing, she'd swear every time something wrong happened or when she got a bad grade, which rarely happened. "Well, " she started to say in the most sweet-but-fake she could do, "Sometimes, we need to swear. Like at times when you're trying to figure out how to explain the situation of how Isabell got hit by a car and now is probably dying from the pain and heat" "What?!" both of them screamed at the same time, "At least you saw the license plate?" Bella asked, Hermione shook her head, "No," she replied, "I was too busy dragging Isabell's body to the nearest bench to memorize it" Jackie and Isabell both sighed in frustration while Hermione continued, "I'm going home to tell mom to call an ambulance, you two are going to stay with Isabell and keep an eye on her" Jackie and Bella nodded and followed Hermione to a bench where the bleedy Isabell sat. This was definitely something ten-year-olds shouldn't see. "It's just her arm" Hermione breathed "JUST HER ARM?! HER WHOLE CHEST IS COVERED IN BLOOD!" Jackie exclaimed, Hermione couldn't help but sigh. She glanced up at the sun as it beated up the street. Honestly, she wouldn't be surprised if it would kill all four of them now. "Fine," she said, almost reluctantly, "It's just her arm AND her chest. You watch over her while I walk back home and tell mom to call an ambulance" the twins nodded as Hermione turned their backs to them, heading towards the Granger house.
