If you agree with this remember to heart and favorite! ---- So if you haven’t heard about it recently scratch has announced that they are thinking about using AI in scratch and this is still very unclear but if it is true this is bad for artists. I am not saying any of this is for certain. But I would like to take the opportunity to explain why AI is bad and why it should not be used on websites like scratch. If you want to learn more you can go to these projects below to hopefully help you but I am just trying to spread the word and express how I feel https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1049510613 https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1049620518 https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1049702015
Just before I explain why AI is bad and would negatively impact the scratch community I just want to thank the people who brought awareness to this and even created studios to support small artists to make a voice for everyone to be heard, so thank you! THE PROBLEMS/CONCERNS ( If I am wrong about this please tell me! I tried my best to research about this and have no intention of targeting scratch or an accusing them of this. I am simply saying how I feel about this situation if used on this site and how AI negatively impacted other sites) Recently I have been noticing many artists rebelling against this for good reason as they feel this will harm the scratch community in a bad way and I agree. - In order for AI to “create” it learns how to draw by using people’s original drawings which harms them as they are not credited in any way. And if scratch decides to add AI, actual artists will be at risk of theft on this site by being pushed over with AI receiving more attention than real artist who spent time and hard work creating ( why theft? Because they are not given any credits and did not give permission for their art to be used) - As you use AI to “create” young minors are at risk to seeing inappropriate things that scratch would be liable to as this is a site for children 8+, this would harm scratch as parents would not react to this well As scratch says create, learn and explore
