Please READ THROUGH THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION before you begin. If you have any questions or feedback regarding this weekly, please redirect them to @Polarbear_17’s profile. The Polar Bears are NOT RESPONSIBLE for lost progress due to not reading the whole description. ~ Welcome, everyone, to IslandSWC! This weekly is set around a classic pirate-y adventure, with Mazasa (our polar bear mascot) exploring the wide SWCSeas. We recommend that you write one continuous piece for this weekly, although it’s designed so you can write whatever you’d like! If this project won’t load on your device, contact a daily team member and we will provide a text-based version. If possible, please try multiple devices before resorting to the text-based version. ~ How to play: The goal of the game is to collect all 13 decorations, one from each cabin, to decorate Mazasa’s polar bear den. After reading the intro and instructions, you’ll be taken to the den, and from there, you’ll set off to explore IslandSWC! There are four islands around the map, each with multiple cabins, so make sure to explore each island fully. At each cabin, you’ll complete a minigame and a writing or non-writing prompt, after which you’ll receive your decoration. You must select 8 writing prompts, 200 words per prompt, and 5 non-writing prompts. There are also many easter eggs scattered around the map, so see how many you can find ;D Once you’ve collected all 13 decorations, head back to the den to complete your adventure! EDIT: This project is now mobile-friendly! Click on the edges of the screen to move Mazasa. ~ Minigames After getting to each island, you will be prompted to play a minigame. You can skip minigames after losing five times, or, if the minigame isn’t one you can lose, after ten minutes have passed. Please still play the minigames to the best of your ability before choosing to skip! After you’ve finished the minigame, a congratulations screen will appear. Press the screen to move onto the writing prompts. ~ How to save (desktop and mobile): To save, click the small Mazasa head at the top right hand corner of your screen while in the cabins, or on Mazasa while swimming through the map. This will take you to a progress screen, which will show you how many decorations you’ve collected and how many more you need to find. Click the save button in the bottom right of the screen, and a variable will pop up on the screen with your save code. Triple click the numbers in the orange box to select the ENTIRE code, copy it, and paste it into a safe location. You can save at any point, EXCEPT during minigames. Because of this, please always save your game before minigames, even if it’s not necessary for you to save at that moment. Beyond that, make sure to save your progress periodically, as lost progress is very frustrating! Due to large amounts of code in the project, your computer may automatically reload the screen, so please save multiple times, even if you do not need to leave at that moment. If you want to keep track of your save codes, create a post in this forum and update it! Forum link: ~ How to load: If you have your progress saved and are returning to this project, you can load your game! Upon clicking the green flag, click the load button. This will open up a text box, which will ask you for your save code. Take the entirety of the save code that you previously copied into a secure location, and paste it back into the text box. Good luck on your continued adventure! ~ How to submit: At the very end, once you have collected all 13 decorations, go back to the den and place all the decorations in the den by clicking the show button and clicking each of the decorations. After your den is decorated, the closing credits will roll, after which you will receive a certificate with all the prompts you chose and a submission code. You must submit this code and a screenshot of your certificate if possible, as well as proof of your writing (minimum of 1800 words) in the main cabin to earn 3500 points. This weekly is due at 11:59pm UTC on July 31st. Good luck, and have fun!
