Hello everyone! Cato here! Today I finished Mockingjay, the final book in The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins. And today, I’m gonna share my insight on the book, what I liked and disliked. WARNING! SPOILERS FOR THE HUNGER GAMES, CATCHING FIRE, AND MOCKINGJAY AHEAD! SCROLL DOWN AT YOUR OWN RISK! THE FOLLOWING TEXT ALSO CONTAINS MENTIONS OF DEATH, MURDER, GORE, AND OTHER DISTURBING TOPICS. What I liked about the book: -Peeta and Katniss ending up together -Effie surviving -Katniss killing President Coin -Epilogue where Katniss and Peeta have kids -Katniss going back to District 12 -Pollux surviving (Idk why I like him so much) What I disliked: -Finnick dying -Prim dying -Finnick dying -Katniss not getting to kill President Snow -Did I mention Finnick dying? -Gale abandoning Katniss -Peeta getting messed up -Cinna dying -SOMEBODY PLEASE BRING FINNICK BACK TO ME Other notes: -Apparently Suzanne Collins regrets killing Finnick so I’m hoping from the bottom of my heart that they make an edit to the book where he doesn’t die or make a fourth book corresponding to the original trilogy where he comes back (Because they never actually fully confirmed his death, as Katniss turned away before seeing his dead body. I hope, and although it’s a steep theory, that the explosion of the Holo somehow killed off the mutts and not Finnick and he comes back after the rest of the events of Mockingjay.) Final thoughts: It’s truly a great book, and I would definitely not skip it. But, it’s quite a depressing one and I personally probably got a bit too carried away with a certain District 4 victor’s death. So, I’ll go and give it a… ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ Thanks for reading!
