}:{Flower}:{ }:{A short story by Ivyartistyyy}:{ }{ I was always different from my family. I was more delicate, and sensitive, like a flower. I didn’t really have many friends at school, mostly because people didn’t want to socialize with someone who was mute. Everyone thought I was weird. Until one day that changed. There was a girl in my class who was almost the complete opposite of me. Her name was Felicity, and she was happy, energetic, and loud, unlike me, who was quiet and more reserved than her. Then one day we were assigned partners for an assignment. And guess who I ended up with? Felicity. She glanced at me, waving and smiling. I found myself shocked at her small action before returning it by smiling softly before returning my eyes to my teacher. After class, Felicity walks up to me smiling, saying “Hey, Clover right?” I nod my head, deciding to assume that she didn’t know sign language. ‘By the way I know sign language, so you don’t have to worry about not being able to communicate or anything’ she signs to me. I look at her surprised, but grin at her, happy that I can chat with someone of my age. ‘Nice to know’ I signed back. After that encounter we started to hang out more, and more, to the point where I started to have feelings for her. Every time I saw her, my chest felt like it was going to explode, and when we held hands one time in a crowd so that we wouldn’t get lost, my stomach and butterflies in it, and was doing flips and turns. I realized that I needed to tell her soon before this feeling corrupted me completely. So, I tapped her shoulder in the middle of math class, and slipped a note in her hand saying to meet me on the roof after school. What if she doesn't like me…. I shake my head, hoping to calm myself, before I walk up the stairs and onto the rooftop. After a few minutes, Felicity pops up in front of me, and I can’t help but think how close she is to my face. “Hi Cloves! What did you wanna talk about?” My face starts to turn red, and I decide to just get it over with, kissing her on her lips softly. When I pull back, she looks shocked. And cute. I take a deep breath before signing, ‘I love you, Felicity, you mean the world to me. Will you be my girlfriend?’, looking up hopefully at her face. “OH MY GOD, CLOVES OF COURSE!!” I smiled happily up at her beaming face. “YES, YES, YES!” ‘And that was how me and your mum first kissed.’
