Possibly aro teen doesn't understand "love", mistakes a married couple for "just friends" and gets canceled for it. At the same time STEAM kid feels out of place because there's so many more opportunities for "girls in STEAM" and the kid feels like if they hadn't been born a girl = wouldn't have been able to get into the program. Also hints of climate collapse and previous societal disturbances. This is the thing I'm currently working on.
