Percy Jackson and the Golden Girdle This the THIRD chapter of a Percy Jackson Fanfic because there was no room in the first and second; inspired by @soymochi for a competition and her OC, Shae Tresti Here are some things to help understand the story: 1. Licourice and liquorice are the same things but one is the British way. 2. Shae and Percy are around the same time. 3. Camp Half-Blood is a place for demigods. 4. Caerus is the god of opportunity and luck.

"Annabeth?" I mumbled groggily, sitting up. "Oh! Percy you're awake!" she called. There were two girls leaning over me, fixing me with a piercing purple, and sharp grey gaze. They were chewing something. "Hai! I'm Shae!" The shorter one of the two gushed. "Uh, I'm Percy..." I muttered, feeling self-conscious. "You drool when you sleep," she smiled. I've heard that before somewhere...*cough* Annabeth... "You knocked your head when you arrived," bleated a familiar voice. "Grover!" I cried, leaping to my feet. "Hey, man!" Grover greeted. He is my best friend, and the one who brought me to Camp Half-Blood. Oh and he's a satyr. Satyrs are kinda like goat men (Don't tell Grover, he doesn't like it when I call them that) with the upper body of a human, and the legs of a- well, a goat. Soon we were sharing stories like the old times, but then Annabeth reminded us about our quest. "Okay..." I said. " Uh... where are we supposed to be going?" The others stared at me, dumbstruck, even Annabeth. (Take that, Wise Girl!) "Aphrodite said we had to find a god the opposite of Moros," Shae chirruped suddenly. "Moros is the god of doom," Grover confirmed. "So....maybe the god of happy endings?" I suggested. "Or goddess!" Annabeth and Shae corrected at the same time and looked delighted with each other. "Nike?" I guessed. "How about Caerus?" Shae suggested. "Maybe....." Annabeth seemed in deep thought. Then she sprang up. "Tyche!" "Bless you!" Grover said. "No, TYCHE goddess of fortune- roman counterpart is Fortuna!" "Let's find her then!" Shae said. "Where in Tartarus even are we?" I asked, looking around. It seemed like we were on some sorta beach. Blue and turquoise waves lapped to-and-fro around us. "On the shores of Cyprus. Aphrodite is the patron of this place," Shae answered immediately. Then beamed. "She gave me all the deets!" "Uh, is this just me or is there probably NOT a shrine to Tyche around here," I said. "Right," Annabeth said. "We need to get to another place." Suddenly an idea struck me. "Since we are on the SHORE and my dad is the god of the SEA...." "Oh I get it!" Shae said and clapped her hands excitedly. I ran up to the water. "Uh, hi dad! I'd highly appreciate it if you could bring us to uh, somewhere else...with a shrine to Tyche...yeah, that's it..." All my companions stared unimpressed at the gentle waters. Then I saw something in the distance. "Look guys!" I shouted, and pointing to the thing that was growing bigger. A rumbling sound started. A huge tidal wave rose above us. "Oh. My. Gods," Annabeth stared at the huge wall of water. "I think Poseidon's mad at us!" Shae yelled over the roar of the waves. "HOLD YOUR BREATH!" I shouted. Then the waves crashed over us... As I was swept into the currents, a flailing goat leg hit me in the stomach. I doubled over. Oh, and did I mention that I can breathe underwater? It's a Poseidon thing. Then as suddenly as it came, the tidal wave left, leaving us all of us (except for me! Also a Poseidon thing) soggy and coughing up seaweed. "Gods and Titans! He could have given us a warning!" Grover groaned, the fur on his hindquarters plastered to his leg. Shae seemed to recover the quickest, and bounced around, acting like she was caffeinated. Annabeth tried to wring out her dripping hair. "What in Athena's...? Where are we?" Somehow I knew exactly where we were. Poseidon thing :) "Corinth," I answered confidently. "And right next to that!" An old marble shrine, coated in ivy stood there, with rays of sunlight gleaming through the white pillars. Shae tilted her head sideways. "Well that's a nice shrine. Tyche must be lucky..." "Well she is the luck goddess!" Annabeth joked. My hands felt sweaty in my pockets. I didn't EXACTLY get on well with goddesses. We reached the centre of the shrine. A marble statue of Tyche holding some sorta cup with coins spilling out, was towering over us. In front of her was an altar, with small flames rising above it. Grover whimpered. "I feel like the statue is staring at us..." I looked up at the marble eyes of Tyche and shivered. This was decidedly creepy. Also, the fire was still burning, even though no one seemed to have tended it for many years. "Well, we're here!" Annabeth abruptly. Then she froze. "Oh my gods! We didn't bring an offering!" I emptied out my pockets. It contained a rubber band and a button. "For the love of Zeus..." Grover moaned. "We didn't bring any food!"
