Full title: Revealing my old Gravity Falls story because I can't finish it now So!! Some of you may remember that a while back I started writing a Gravity Falls fan story. The story was essentially a fan-made sequel to the series, but I stopped writing it after the Book of Bill was announced in case the information contained in it would prove my theories wrong. I didn't want to get super deep into the story and then have it not line up with canon, you know? Well, the Book of Bill is out now, and after reading it, I can confidently say that my story.... does *not* line up with canon, unfortunately. I *could* keep writing it if I wanted to, but it was intended to be a story that fit in perfectly with the show's canon and worked as a sequel, and that doesn't hold true anymore. So, I've decided to stop writing it. However! I'm pretty proud of what I had so far, so I've decided to share the plot I had in mind, as well as what I'd written so far of the story. An explanation of the plot can be found below, and everything that I've written so far can be found inside the project!! Enjoy!! Explanation of the plot!! (MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR GRAVITY FALLS BY THE WAY) This story was all built around the theory that if Stan's mind could be restored, then Bill could be too. The story opens with Bill in a black void with the Axolotl. Bill demands that the Axolotl revive him, but the Axolotl says that won't be necessary as Stan's mind takes shape around him. Bill tries to escape but finds that Stan has unknowingly built up a sort of mental cage around Bill as a sort of defense mechanism. Bill's trapped, but he figures he can use it to his advantage. Dipper and Mabel are having a normal school day when they are told they're going back to Gravity Falls. They get super excited but are also confused. They meet Soos and Wendy at a bus stop, and when they arrive at the Mystery Shack, Wendy locks all the doors and covers all the windows. The other members of the Zodiac are at the shack too, and Wendy explains that they have evidence that Bill Cipher may be coming back. She shows them a letter from Ford, explaining that Stan had been sleepwalking and muttering strange things in his sleep, and that Ford thinks he's being possessed. Because the entire Zodiac needs to be together to defeat Bill one way or another, Stan and Ford are coming back to Gravity Falls too. They want to find a way to defeat Bill, but aren't sure how yet. At some point Soos is making a sandwich with ingredients that seem really weird together, but he says "You know, it seems like a weird combination, but they're actually really good together, dudes!" This may seem random, but it becomes important later. At some point Dipper and Mabel end up in the bunker (I don't remember how) where they find that the Shapeshifter has escaped. They start to freak out, wondering who could of let it out, until they find a man who explains that he ""accidentally"" let it out but managed to trap it again. This is a lie-- The man is really in cahoots with Bill, and he actually let the shapeshifter out so that it could go to the arctic ocean and cause a ruckus (the thing that Ford noticed in the final Weirdmageddon episode) so that the Stans would leave Gravity Falls, separating the Zodiac gang (because they can only defeat Bill if they're together!) Dipper asks how the man got into the bunker, and in response, he hands him Journal 3, which he claims to have found in the forest. Dipper runs back to the Shack to tell Ford. When Ford touches the journal it sort of "absorbs" into him, and I don't want to explain that all right now but an excerpt explaining this can be found inside the project. AAaanyway, the mysterious man claims that he's trying to find a way to defeat Bill, and that he thinks that by sucking the "weirdness energy" out of him, he will lose his power. Little do they know, this man isn't trying to defeat Bill, he's going to use the "weirdness siphon" he's constructing to pull Bill out of Stan's mind. The twins agree to help him find the materials needed to construct the machine and go on a bunch of "side quests", while slowly figuring out that this guy's intentions may not be what they seem. (Bill would probably cause some trouble along the way by doing stuff with Stan's body.) When they finally realize his true goal, it's too late, and the machine is already complete. Bill is freed, but when he starts to cause chaos again, the man turns on him and uses the weirdness siphon to steal all of Bill's power for himself. Bill, powerless, is forced to work with the Pines and co. in order to defeat him, but all of their attacks are no use. They realize they'll have to use the Zodiac. They draw the circle and all join hands. The Zodiac gives them each powers related to their symbol, and they use these to defeat him. They think everything is well, but now that the man has lost Bill's power, it's returned to Bill, and Bill starts to cause chaos again. (Continued in n&c)
(Continued from above) They try to use the Zodiac to defeat Bill, but Bill found out how the weirdness siphon works and uses it to suck the weirdness power from the world around him and becomes so powerful that the Zodiac doesn't stop him. So, they use their powers to sort of hold Bill off while they think of a plan. Dipper thinks that the only one who can defeat Bill now is Bill himself, but of course that's impossible... But then Mabel recalls Soos's sandwich (the one with the weird ingredients) and points out to the rest of the group that maybe if they recruit versions of Bill Cipher from different dimensions, maybe they could work together to defeat him. A triangle has three sides, so they decide that three Bills should do the trick. They either get the portal booted up again or build a new one (I don't remember which) and go on an interdimensional road trip! Most of the Bills they find are evil, and they only manage to find 2 who were willing to help them.... And that wouldn't be enough. They aren't sure what to do until they find an orange triangle who introduces himself as Phil Cipher, Bill's twin brother. (I'm keeping the theme of twins here, as you can see!) He explains that Bill destroyed his own dimension, and that he was the only survivor other than Bill himself. Dipper and Ford don't trust him at first, but Stan suggests that they use Ford's mind-reading machine to see if he can be trusted. Phil agrees to this, so they return to the shack and use it on his mind. Phil is revealed to be telling the truth, and is also quite similar to Ford in personality. Now that they have the three versions of Bill that they need, they go to defeat the one that's causing trouble for them. When Bill sees Phil, in true Bill fashion, he tries to strike up a deal with him. Join him, and they can rule the universe together. Phil refuses of course, and Bill tries to fight him while also trying at the same time to convince him to join his side. Eventually all three of the Ciphers manage to get Bill surrounded. Each of them sets one of his corners on fire, and as Bill burns, there's an emotional scene between him and Phil, where he begs Phil not to kill him, saying "don't you love me?" Phil explains that he *does* love him, and that's *why* he's doing this. Bill could never be happy the way he is now, so Phil is essentially setting him free. Bill tells Phil that he loves him too as the last of his body disintegrates into golden ashes, leaving only his eye behind before that vanishes too. Phil breaks down crying-- After all, he just lost his brother. Ford comforts him while Dipper and Mabel stare in disbelief. After all this time, Bill is finally gone... Everybody goes their separate ways-- Phil goes back to traveling the multiverse, Dipper and Mabel go back to California, Stan and Ford probably retire or something like that idk. Dipper and Mabel promise that they'll come visit again that summer. In the epilogue, Bill is back in the black void. The Axolotl comes down and Bill starts yelling furiously at him, but the Axolotl stays calm. He brings Bill some tea and starts asking him questions like "Don't you miss home?" and "Don't you regret what you did?" Bill denies it all, and though the Axolotl knows he's lying, he doesn't press him. The Axolotl offers Bill a chance to start over, but Bill rejects it. The Axolotl says "okay, see you tomorrow" and leaves. After some time he comes back with the tea and asks the same questions again, and Bill continues to deny it all. This same thing happens every day for who knows how long until Bill gets tired of it and yells, "GO AWAY!! AND DON'T COME BACK!" The Axolotl says "Okay" and turns around to leave. As he's leaving, Bill calls after him, "AND IF YOU MUST COME BACK, AT LEAST BRING A DIFFERENT KIND OF TEA!!" After a while Bill gets lonely and bored in the dark void, so he considers the Axolotl's offer to start over. After mulling it over for a while, he accepts it and calls the Axolotl back. The Axolotl reincarnates him. It's heavily implied that he's reincarnated as King from The Owl House, much like the popular fan theory. I think that's all!! I might have missed some stuff but I don't *thiiiiink* I did??? Anyway, I'm a bit sad that I can't continue this story without it either being non-canon or having to change, like *everything*, but I hope you enjoyed reading about what it would have been like!! Oh, by the way, I'd written Bill's sad death scene on a piece of paper somewhere, but I don't know where it is... I'll post it if I manage to find it! Uhmmmm yeah that's all!! Bye!!
