Okay, here is the first draft of the Rules and Regulations. Putting this up for review. Click the green flag for some background music. Section I: Combat Realism Military Info: all nations must have certain bits of information available to everyone. These will be listed here: - Number of active-duty soldiers in the army, navy, air force, and any other branches of the military - Number of each class of ship in the navy (3 battleships, 8 destroyers, etc.) - Number of each class of plane in the air force (100 fighters, 200 bombers, and so on) - Number of divisions in the army. you are not required to specify the status of each division (Number of men in each, support companies, a name for the division, whatever you can think of), but it is encouraged for the sake of worldbuilding and roleplay. Combat Etiquette: RPers must abide by these rules in order to keep combat fair and realistic. - No bullet dodging. While this is kind of a general rule, I decided to put it here. To put it in more digestible terms, be ready to take a loss. For example, if you lose a lot of land to a superior force, you can't just say "we counterattack and push then back to their starting line". Just accept the loss and move on. This isn't saying you can't recover, there just needs to be some reason to back it up. - You must wait 2 in-RP days (about 10 hours) before updating an offensive operation. While this may seem inconvenient, it gives time for the opposition to respond, keeps things realistic, and (hopefully) increases the quality of posts. - You must abide by a certain format for combat maps. this system (example in progress) will require you to show the location of each division along the front line. - An RPer must have a basic (understatement) understanding of combat during the era. And no, HOI4 isn't exactly accurate. You can do this by reading histories of combat (I read Waffen-SS by Adrian Gilbert, It's 400 pages long). - If an action is found to be in violation of these rules, it will be decannonized. What does that mean? It never happened. Poof. Gone forever. while this may seem a little harsh, it is necessary to keep people in line. I'll try to be a little less scrutinous to keep the punishments to a minimum. Section II: Activity General Activity: An RPer must fulfill certain quotas in order to stay "active". - An RPer must post something RP-related at least once a week. This includes but is not limited to: Assets, news updates, diplomatic operations, and troop movements. - An RPer must try to respond to any comments relevant to them. This rule has great leniency, however, as it is understood that a given person is bound to miss a few messages. - A violation of these rules will first result in a warning, and possible decannonization if inactivity continues. Sanctioned Hiatus: RPers will not face consequences for inactivity if they follow these steps. - Send a message containing your reason for going on hiatus (e.g. vacation, exams, sickness) and the date of your return to me and the main studio ( - If you are unable to access your scratch account due to a ban, just message me on an alternate platform (preferably dizzy, but there's a small chance I might check ro blocks), my username is most likely the same as it is here. Section III: Hearts of Iron IV While these aren't really rules, they are things you should be aware of. when this RP is over, I will be turning it into a Hearts of Iron IV (HOI4) mod. Here are some clarifications: - You DO NOT need to have access to HOI4 in order to join this RP. I am simply using this as a means of allowing others to experience the history being created here. - You will have to be okay with some of your creations (mostly lore and flags) being used in said mod. - You may inform me of anything you should like me to incorporate into the HOI4 mod for your nation. This ranges from lore tidbits to division templates to focus tree ideas. You might even be able to directly send me code. Just remember, this is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. If you don't send me anything, I won't hold it against you. It just speeds up the mod and ups the quality of the mod if you do.
